    Funded May 8, 2024

Thank you so much for your generous donation to our donor’s choose project for my preschool classroom. My little learners are going to be super excited to play with their new stem toys. You are making a difference in the education of students.

Thank you from the bottom of my heart!!”

  • Call All Builders to the Block Center

    Funded Sep 29, 2022

Thank you so much for your generous donation! My preschoolers were so excited to play with all our new toys in our block center. The block center is one of their favorite places to play each day. With the airplane, the children used blocks to make an airport. The train set is one of their favorite toys! They are able to connect the pieces and create a whole little city around the train tracks. They love to build ramps and use cars to go down the ramps into our wooden garages.

Your donation allows my students valuable play and learning experiences in our block center. Thank you again for making a difference!”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Dell'Orto

  • Let’s Set the Table

    Funded Sep 29, 2022

Thank you so much for your generous donation!! My students use the table and two chairs in our dramatic play center every day. On the first day, the children were so excited to be able make different foods and serve it to their friends. Before receiving the table and chairs, they used the floor to play in this center. Now my students are able to sit and play. They love to set the table for a pretend breakfast or lunch. One of their favorite things to do is set up the table for a birthday party. Your donation has made a huge difference in our classroom! Thank you again.”

  • It's Playtime!

    Funded Sep 7, 2022

Thank you so much for your very generous donation to our dramatic play center. My preschoolers love to play in this center especially since we received all our dramatic play toys. We have open a bakery in this center as one of our themes. The children enjoyed playing and more importantly learned a lot. We have learned what jobs are in a bakery and how to role play those jobs. The bread basket allowed us to stock our bakery shelves. We even set up a pretend eating area where we served coffee (using our new kids safe appliance) and bread to our customers. We also learned about being a customer and we loved using the purses to hold our money. The children love to take orders on the play phone or even take personal calls from their mom.

Again thank you so much for making a difference in my students lives.”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Dell'Orto

  • Zen Den for Little Learners

    Funded Sep 7, 2022

Thank you so much for your support!!! Our cozy corner area is a big hit in our preschool classroom. The children use it throughout the day to sit and read a book or play with liquid sensory viewers. Sometimes a child may use it just take a break, especially if they are not having a good day. It is a safe space in our classroom. The Stack & Build Emotion Kids have allowed my students to explore their feelings and have been very helpful when a child is not able to verbally express how they are feeling. We especially love the emotion play dough mats and use them a lot in our classroom.

Again thank you so much from the bottom of our hearts!”

  • Little Mathematicians Learning to Count

    Funded Sep 7, 2022

My students are loving all their math materials. They are so curious and excited to see and use all the new math items each day. We have been learning so many math concepts thanks to your donation. Since receiving our materials, my students are learning how to count, make patterns and sorting by colors, shapes and other properties. The math trays are such a great tool for these preschoolers because they just place the manipulative like the buttons or math links right into the trays to explore concepts hands on. The number peg boards give them tons of hands-on counting practice.

Again thank you so much from the bottom of my heart!!”

  • Little Scientists

    Funded Jan 13, 2022

My Little Scientists were so excited and eager to see our new science materials. One of their favorite items was The Real Bugs Discovery Kit. They examined each of the real life specimens using magnifying glasses and started to see similarities and differences in these bugs. One student told me that some bugs have wings and some don't. Some students started to classify the bugs by counting the number of their legs. This kit allowed us to have rich conversations that expanded their vocabulary and curiosity. The reference book was a great tool that allowed us to learn more about each bug. The students played games with each other trying to find each of the bugs in the book.

These items allowed my children to investigate and explore so many different science concepts. I want to thank you for helping me give my little science learners the opportunity to explore the world around them!”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Dell'Orto

  • Light Up Our World

    Funded Nov 16, 2021

Thank you so much for your very generous donation to our light table project. My little learners were so excited when they first saw the light table. They were completely mesmerized by the different color lights the table displays. Initially we had to play with the different light settings. Each time the light color changed they were laughing and clapping. The light table is the most used center in our classroom each day.

The light table manipulatives have enhanced the learning of these preschoolers. They are learning concepts such as sorting, counting, size, shape, ordering, numbers and letter identification in a fun, engaging way. The pattern blocks are one of their favorite manipulatives. Using the pattern blocks, the students have created houses, robots, animals, and flowers. In addition, they have learned the names and can identify most of the pattern block shapes. We have also learned about color patterns-(ex: red, yellow, red, yellow). At the light table, the children chose which manipulatives they wanted to explore patterns with. Some chose the bugs, others the gems. It was amazing to see how quickly the children created patterns. A few students began to explore 3 color pattern combinations. And yes they are only 3 years old. It was truly amazing to watch.

The light table gives my little learners the opportunity to investigate, observe and explore while playing. Our next unit of study involves animals. We will be setting up a veterinary clinic in our dramatic play area. We will using the light table to explore animal x-rays. The children will have the opportunity to explore and learn about animal bone structures.”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Dell'Orto

A light table with accessories will give my preschoolers fun learning experiences that will enhance their sensory play. It will support their language development, fine motor skills, problem-solving skills, cognitive growth, and social interaction. Preschoolers learn best through exploration, using their senses to understand their world. I want to help foster a love of learning in each of my students. Some of the activities that my students could engage in: building our names with special translucent letter tiles, exploring and creating colors with color paddles, counting and sorting, using various stencils, using the light table to trace our letters and names, manipulating shapes to become more aware of spatial relationships through the use of translucent geometric pieces while discovering the basics of geometry, and viewing x-rays of various types of animals and shells (just to name a few).
