  • Tangible Telescopes

    Funded Apr 30, 2025

We are so excited and cannot wait to receive our new materials. We are so grateful for your generosity and will most definitely share images of our class utilizing our new technology for you to see. We continue to be inspired by the dedication and generosity of donors like yourselves who answer the call again and again.”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Mack

This classroom project was brought to life by DonorsChoose Board Member W. Kamau Bell and 12 other donors.
  • Microscopes to Magnify the World Around Us

    Funded Dec 24, 2023

We can not thank you enough for your generosity and helping to improve our learning environment. The microscopes have have assisted in our interactive lessons, increased and expanded their interest and love for science. For our plant cell vs. animal cell lesson in the beginning of the year the students were only able to observe images from the internet. We were able to use an onion and tissue from our cheeks to see the cells for ourselves. They couldn't believe their eyes. These microscopes have made science more real to them and reeled them in. We were also able to observe the cicadas exoskeleton and wings under the microscope. The students now understand why the cicada's shell sticks to everything. They want to put everything under the microscope and love what we are doing.

We are grateful for all of the tools we now have to be successful learners and broaden our senses to the world around us!

Thank you for making our environment more interactive, vibrant and an inviting place to learn.”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Mack

  • What in the World? Discover Science News!

    Funded May 7, 2024

We appreciate your generosity and helping to provide resources we find interesting and engaging! Science World isn't just a magazine. It offers videos, hands-on activities and invites us to explore places all over the world. We are excited to know that Science World will be waiting for us when we get back to school in August!”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Mack

  • "Just Tell 'em Large Marge Sent Ya"

    Funded Nov 7, 2017

We can not thank you enough for your generosity and helping to improve our learning environment. The large post-its have assisted in our interactive lessons, taking classroom notes and check-lists that we can refer back to when working in groups or independently. The Sharpie markers have help to make the large post-its visually appealing and easier to see. We also love the small post-its because it allows us to take notes and annotate in our novel sets and text books that we don't get to keep.

We are grateful for all of the tools we now have to be successful learners.

Thank you for making our environment more interactive, vibrant and an inviting place to learn.

5th Graders in Room 205, Dawes Elementary”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Mack

I am requesting large post-it pads because they are an item we use everyday in our classroom. When my class gathers together for a lesson, either I create an anchor chart or the students use small post its to place on the large post its based on the lesson. These large anchor charts are displayed throughout the room so that my students can refer back to them when needed. This is an essential item in my classroom. The large anchor charts we create help my students to have visual to refer back to of what we are learning/have learned. It would help tremendously to have a supply of large anchor chart paper in my classroom! I hate running out because I know how important our large charts are to our literacy and math learning.
