Having a set of iPads will change the way my students practice their newly found skills. The use of technology will help close the learning gap quickly between the students who are fluent readers and those who are not. We would benefit greatly from iPads that the students can use to do their Tier II and Tier III reading interventions in the classroom. The iPads allow them to access their lessons in half the time of our desktop computers and this allows them to get back to the whole group learning quickly. An intervention that is meant to take each student 20 minutes ends up taking hours because the students have to share the three desktop computers that we have. This makes scheduling projects and engaging learning activities very difficult.
