  • Learning to Be Engineers!

    Funded Oct 30, 2023

Thank you for your generosity. Things are difficult during these tough times so it means so much that you reached into your pocket to donate to my class, one of many in need. My students are so excited to start our robotic projects with your donation. Thank you once again!”

  • 21st Century Leaners Share Their Thinking

    Funded Oct 11, 2023

Thank you for all you do to help our public school students. Being a Title I school comes with many challenges. One of wish is providing appropriate supplies, materials, and equipment. With your donation, you are helping our students acquire equipment that otherwise they would not have.

Thank you once again for your generous contribution!”

  • Creating With a MacBook

    Funded Apr 8, 2022

This purchase has allowed my students to research, create, and share learning of the world. This laptop helps them research about endangered animals, ancient civilizations, and how to write opinion papers. They were able to create google docs and slides about their new learning.

Students were also able to do computer science with this mac book. Being able to go to sites, such as code.org and scratch was made easier because this mac laptop was easy to use and the school wi-fi made it easier as well.

Thank you for your generous donation. This purchased has helped me without struggles due to old technology. I also have been able to have parent conferences via zoom using this mac which makes it easier. No glitches here! Thank you once again!”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Navarro

  • Reaching Students Through Technology

    Funded Sep 16, 2020

Thank you for your generosity. During these difficult times, it is especially appreciated. Virtual learning has been difficult for all involved, from the parents and students to the teachers. We're learning as many ways to keep our students learning and engaged, which isn't easy. In particular, in our school where poverty and language barriers limit accessibility in addition to technology limitations.

Your gift has allowed me to receive the latest laptop on the market. With this piece of equipment, I can create lessons from platforms such as, Nearpod, Flipgrid, Kahoot!, Quizzes, and Adobe Spark to name a few. These site require a device that can access the platform to create lessons and assignments that children can access both synchronously and asynchronously. For example, Quizzes is a site where assessments are created. These assessments are administered as a game. The children enjoy "racing" to the top as they answer questions correctly. If my device crashes, there goes to game! This laptop has given me the ability to stay connected with my students as best as I can.

I look forward to the day that we can physically be in class and the children can safely use this piece of technology. The latest features will allow children to create presentations and share them with the world. Thank you for giving my students and me the equipment needed to give them an education that they deserve. THANK YOU!”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Navarro

I work with 2nd -5th grade English Learners, some of who are new to our country and have limited resources. They attend a Title I school in Huntington Park, CA where about 90% of the students qualify for free lunch. Over 60% of the students are learning English. They often do not own more than 5-8 books of their own.
