Hello, I am a teacher in Baltimore City. I have 30 students in my class this year. With students that have had 30 or more students in their classes since Kindergarten, these students have had very little individual or small group instruction, they are lacking many prerequisite skills. Without a scheduled recess or gym time, my students have less focus on instruction and more focus on how to get their energy out during lessons. Their school lives will improve by having more time on task. This will happen when they have mastered skills and can access the 4th grade curriculum. My students also need more technology around them. Many of my students do not have computers or tablets to access the internet. With more access to technology my students will be more successful on our end of the year test which is taken on a computer.
