Get Your Teach On!
Funded Dec 9, 2016This is just a small token of my gratitude for your generous donation to my classroom. The workshop you helped send me to has helped me and my students everyday. I've used the strategies and ideas I learned in numerous ways with different groups of students. The students love to work on our reading passages using the close reading strategies I learned at Get Your Teach On. They especially love to sing the comprehension songs.
Our school is currently facing budget cuts, so without your help, I would not have been able to attend this conference. My students would not be working on reading daily and having fun while doing so.
Without donors like you, thousands of classrooms would go without. Thank you so much for your generous donation.”

Hands-On Activities to Save Lives
Funded Mar 9, 2016I was extremely excited when I heard that my project had been fully funded. I wish everyday could be #bestschoolday so that every teacher could have his/her projects fully funded. I was like a kid at Christmas waiting for my boxes to arrive. Once they finally arrived, I tore into them and immediately started using the materials that had been donated. When the kids came into my room and saw that we had new games to play, they literally jumped up and down. I love seeing kids so eager to learn.
Because of your generation donation we received 10 different phonemic awareness centers and a set of magnetic builders used to build letters of the alphabet. These centers are all very durable and extremely easy to keep organized. Each center has pieces that are color coded. This makes clean up a snap (which is very important when working with small children.)
My students love "playing" with our new "toys". They don't even realize they are learning while they are playing. They beg to use the new center activities.
Phonemic awareness is such an important skill for young children. They must master phonemic awareness in order to have the skills needed to learn to read. Many of my students who were in the bottom of 25% of their class are now growing much faster than the rest of their classmates. I just love seeing their faces each day as they learn something new.
Not only will my students this year benefit from your donation, but children for years to come will enjoy learning with these centers. I can't possibly thank you enough. I hope the knowledge that your generous donation has helped struggling learners will be thanks enough.”
With gratitude,
Mrs. Staton
