I have a very bright group of first graders. We love to read and learn new things. The majority of students in my class are identified gifted learners. They are always seeking to explore deeper and deeper into whatever we are studying. It is great to have a group that is so intelligent and who want to learn! We do a lot of extra projects, so we always need supplies for research. I check out a mountain of books from the library on a regular basis. Sometimes it is really hard to find biographies and content specific books, like science books on sound or magnets, that are on a low enough reading level that even my exceptionally bright first graders can read independently. We are located within a few miles of a major military installation. Many of my students come from active military families. Even though we have students moving in and out throughout the year, our school always feels like a home. We have great teachers and parents who really care.
