Supplies for Success!
Funded Sep 29, 2022I cannot thank you enough for your generous donations of supplies to our classroom. All of the supplies in this project were items that my students so greatly needed and have made an incredible impact. We have used the card stock during writer's workshop to publish our writing. We were able to use this strong, brightly colored paper to make our writing really come together and look like real published books. We use the permanent markers on a daily basis during writing, in our readers notebooks, to highlight math work, and during social studies project making. The staplers and the tape are permanent fixtures in our writing center to help us revise, edit, and publish our pieces. The list goes on and on. You have truly made a difference in our classroom and in my students lives. They are able to be more successful because of you. Thank you for your kindness and generosity.”

Funded Sep 29, 2022I can't thank you enough for donating all of these amazing series books to our classroom. There were so many books in this project, I was able to dedicate an entire bookshelf filled with bins of these books in my classroom library. I did a big reveal to the students, covering the book shelf, building it up, and then uncovering to show the new books. My students were beyond excited! They literally couldn't wait to look through the bins, preview the books, and add them to their reading baggies. The Arnie the Donut books series, the Minecraft, and the Bad Food books in particular are flying off the shelves. As I look around the classroom during independent reading time these books are in the students hands. They are so engaged in the books, they love reading them, they love writing about them. You have brought joy into our library and to my little readers. Thank you again for your kindness.”

Funded Sep 21, 2022Your generous donation has made such a difference in my classroom. I used the beautiful bins in my classroom library. Each color bin represents a different genre of books. The blue is for fiction, yellow for nonfiction, green for mystery, and red for book series. The library looks so beautiful, organized, and inviting to students now.
Not only did it help our library out visually it has made book shopping and choosing our reading books so fun and easy. My students now know which color bin matches their reading interests. For example, if they want to read a mystery book they know they can go right to the green bins or if they want a nonfiction book they can go right to the yellow bins. It makes books shopping so smooth and it really allows the students to get right to the books they want to read without any confusion.
The first time my students came in and saw our library transformation they were amazed! They absolutely love how colorful the library is and they love choosing books out of their colored bins. They couldn't wait to get into the library and use the bins to find they books they loved. Thank you for making this all possible!”

Funded Sep 15, 2021We cannot thank you enough for your very generous donation of basic supplies for our classroom. When I tell you we had no resources for our class, we legitimately had nothing. Receiving your materials has made such a difference in our classroom and our everyday learning.
Our favorite supply, by far, as been the card stock. We have used the card stock to to make beautiful covers for our writing pieces, one we made a scene to match our story, one we created a collage of an informational topic we wrote about, and one we made a giant self-portrait as persuasive authors. We all now have our own dry erase boards and markers that we used to phonics, reading, and math everyday. We each have a collection of our own personal pencils, glue sticks, and scissors. We all even have our own crayons. All of this has been made possible by you!
My students and I are so grateful and so genuinely thankful for what you have done for us. It is not easy being a student in this current pandemic and the ease that they can access their basic supplies has just made them so incredibly happy. They have what they need every day to enjoy learning and be successful. That is all thanks to you!”

Publishers Need Perfect Printing!
Funded Jul 29, 2021Being able to have a printer in my classroom has truly changed the learning experience for my students. No classrooms in this school have their own printer so this is an exciting first for my students. During the first week of school when I was teaching my students all about their classroom environment and the tools and materials that they will have at their hands this year I introduced them to the printer. They were truly shocked. Once I told them all the great things we were going to be using the printer for they were even more excited. They even offered their own ideas of ways they wanted to use it. I love that it even allowed them to take control of their own learning!
Since the year has started the students have just been using it nonstop. Something that really stands out as an impactful time that the printer has helped us was with our nonfiction writing unit. In this writing unit my students choose a topic they know a lot about, anything from dogs to ice cream to dinosaurs to soccer. Then they learn different strategies for writing a nonfiction informational book on their topic. During the revising and publishing process the students were actually able to search for and print photographs on their topics to insert into their books. They worked so hard and so diligently finding the right pictures, the ones that they really believed made theirbooks better, and were able to print those pictures! With the pictures they added so many features to their books, like labeled diagrams, maps, pictures with captions, and fun facts pages. This is something they would have never had the opportunity to do if it wasn't for the printer. This truly brought so much joy to them as writers.
I truly thank you for what you have done for my students and my classroom this year. You helped bring the joy of learning back to them.”

Funded Aug 30, 2018I cannot thank you enough to providing my students with Amazon Fire Tablets. Whether we are doing reading, math, science, or social studies there is always a place for us to use the tablets. The excitement and the happiness that comes from watching my students explore on the tablets has been such an amazing experience. They can do so many things now that they weren't able to do before. Their absolute favorite thing to do is read digital texts during reading workshop. They can't get to their tablets fast enough! Thank you again for this generous donation!”

Funded Nov 21, 2017My students and I are so grateful for the books you sent to us. Our library is seriously lacking in the book department and the books we have are lacking in interest. When your mystery books arrived the students could not wait to get started reading them. Once they started it was all they could talk about! They love sharing the books with one another, talking about the mysteries, and working together to solve them. We even did one book as a whole class read aloud and worked together to keep track of suspects, evidence, and events so we can solve the mystery together. We have been having such fun with these books! I can't explain the joy these books have brought my students. Thank you so much for bringing these books into our classroom. We are truly grateful!”

Funded Nov 21, 2017I can't thank you enough for the science and art materials. We have been using them in so many ways. As we studied electricity in science we built closed and open circuits from the electricity kit. We used the batteries, switches, fans, light bulbs, and wires to create circuits. We then used the paints to create art projects of the different circuits that we built. Those creations hung in the hallway proudly for everyone in our school to see.
When you bring big boxes into a classroom there always in a level of excitement that comes with that. We opened the boxes together and the excitement in the room as we took out all of the science kits was just amazing. The kids all got a chance to explore all the science materials and couldn't wait to try real experiments with them. When they saw the paints and learned how we can use them with our experiments, they actually let out a cheer. There is nothing they love more than learning in a hands on way and expressing themselves in uniquely and artistically.
Now that we have explored all of our electricity experiments, next up is force and motion and simple machines. The students are so excited to try these kits out! Thank you, thank you, thank you again for making my students so incredibly happy and excited to learn.”

Funded Jan 30, 2017As soon as our books arrived my students got right to work on them. The very first thing we did was to explore all of the new books. I put them all out on the table in different stations and just let my students explore the books (hold them, look at the pictures, and read them). They were so excited just by this part alone. It was the first time this year they held brand new, beautiful books in their hands. Once the exploration was finished I pulled them all to our meeting area and told them the story of how we got the beautiful new books (from our donors who took our classroom under their wing and helped us out). My students were wowed by the kindness and generosity towards them from complete strangers.
From there my students chose the books they were most interested in and made reading baggies containing those books. They read those books everyday in reading workshop, the time during the day when the students read independently, with groups, or with partners. Now, everyday, they use the books during this workshop and they are so engaged in these stories.
The best part is that they have begun to take the books home, sharing their favorites in their bags with their family. The feedback we have gotten from
the families on these new books and the take home baggies has been nothing but positive. They are thrilled that their children have access to such great books and they are happy to see a love of reading being fostered between the classroom and home by bring these books back and forth.
Your donation is what has been able to make all of this joy happen and we are truly thankful.”
