Indoor Green Spaces Make For Great Learning!
Funded Mar 27, 2018I just want to say how thankful the students of my Green Team and I are for your generous donation to our project. What was unique about this project was that one of my girls on the Green Team approached me with this idea at the beginning of the year. She had thought about these "green spaces" over the summer and did enough research to convince me to let her make a team to launch this project. This is what every teacher dreams about: where students can take ownership of their learning and be proactive in making an impact for the better. Though there is still work to be done, I am so proud of these middle school children. Thank you for being a part of their efforts to make the environment better for everyone!”

Funded Mar 5, 2018I just want to take the time to express my extreme gratitude for your generous donation to my project. I know it is only ink but ink can get very costly, especially when children rely so much on printing: lab reports, presentations, research, etc. I know there are many times I run out of ink for my printer at home, so I have to pray that my own children can find a teacher that will let them print out what they need at school. And thanks to you, I can be that person in this school. So thank you for being so supportive and helping me help the students!”

Fountain of Youth
Funded May 15, 2017Due to the new water fountain donation, less students and teachers have been bringing plastic water bottles. In addition, the station has allowed us to stay hydrated all day long, which is important for health. Our project is efficiently running at the moment , which benefits all our students. Our water fountain provides for hundreds of students everyday. We plan to continue to use the water fountain as a method of reducing the usage of plastic water bottles in the school. Additionally, we hope to reduce plastic water bottle usage from 57% to 47% by February of 2018. Through this project, we have learned about the harmful effects of plastic usage/waste on the environment . We are also decreasing the amount of plastic that will end up in our local landfill.
In conclusion, our community has been educated on the countless benefits of reusable water bottles. Our student population credits this contribution to our newfound system of water bottle refilling.”

Bloody Crime Scene Refills!
Funded Dec 22, 2015I just want to take the time to thank you again so much for you generous donation to fund my project. The simulated blood that your money purchased has made my science lab activities more authentic for my 8th grade students. We used it not only to study about blood types and how they interact but we took it to another level to solve a crime scene. I staged a murder where students had to analyze the blood samples to determine who the murderer was. The students had so much fun and it was great to give them a scenario that allowed them to see just one real life application of the content they just learned. And this excitement couldn't have been seen without your help!”

Crime Busters!
Funded May 24, 2014I just want to take the time to thank you for your generous donation. Teaching forensic science is such a fun way to incorporate concepts from biology and chemistry. It is also a great way to enhance our students' problem solving skills and critical thinking skills. The kits that your donation purchased allow for my students to do hands-on science with role-playing in a simulated crime situation which they said was exciting for them. My students kept asking me for more crime solving activities thanks to their experience with these! Again, I extend my deepest gratitude for helping me make science fun!”

You Are What You Eat
Funded Feb 21, 2013Thank you so much for your generous contribution to my class project! The students had a great time learning about nutrition as they tested different foods to determine if they had sugar, protein, and starch. As a result, students understood why athletes eat the way they do and why people avoid certain foods for particular diets. Using the osmosis/diffusion kit helped them have a better understanding of why and how certain substances are absorbed into the body. Students love the hands-on activities so I thank you again for helping me foster a love of learning science!”

Funded Dec 13, 2012I want to take the time to thank all of you for your generous donation to this project. My students have had a wonderful time using the different kits to help enrich their forensic science experiences. They were very excited to use the firearm identification kit and the blood splatter kit since it gives them a more authentic experience when processing a crime scene as well as teaching them the importance of using math in science. The chemistry of food kit was a great way to introduce the concepts of chemical reactions in an engaging manner while solving a crime. Thank you for making my forensic science curriculum more exciting for my students!”

Crime Detectives
Funded Aug 13, 2012Thank you so much for your generosity towards our classroom! The kids had such a great time with the cool forensic science kits that you funded. It was really fun for me to stage the crime scenes and for the students to actually perform fiber and blood tests to solve a murder mystery. They also learned how math is necessary for science as they measured distances and angles from the blood spatter of the victim to determine where the murder was committed. You have made my forensic science course so much more authentic!”

Technology In Science Rules!
Funded Apr 30, 2012I want to thank you so much for your generous donation to my project. My original plan was to implement the use of the multimedia for my Genetics Unit next September. However, I found that the DVD's could also be used as a great review for my students who are taking the Science Statewide exam in June. Most of my students even commented how the video really helped them remember the concepts I taught earlier in the year by giving them the visuals they needed. The DVD's had great animations so students can see a "process" and not just a picture! Your funding of my project will be greatly appreciated for years to come!”

Funded Dec 2, 2011I just want to take this time to thank you for your generous donation. The kids have really enjoyed using the probes that you helped purchase for our classroom when they were studying water quality. They even commented on how they felt like real scientists because they were using real equipment that worked that sent the data they collected about pH and temperature of water samples straight into the computer to be graphed! You made it possible for me to increase the use of technology in my classroom and I will be forever grateful!”
