  • Goodbye Chalkboard, Hello Whiteboard!

    Funded Aug 8, 2022

Thank you so much for the generous donation. Now I have a nice clean whiteboard covering the old-school blackboard. Now I can use it to draw quick diagrams to help my students visualize the abstract concepts that I am trying to teach in science. I can also use it as a quick assessment when I ask students to come up to the board to show their work.

The different color dry erase markers make everything brighter and easier to color code material for students to understand. Thank you for supporting our children!”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Posada

  • Just Hit Print!

    Funded Aug 12, 2021

Thank you so much for your donations to my project. The school year has barely started and my students are already taking advantage of your generosity. Their first project was to print out a collage to let me know what their favorite science topic was. It required a small writing piece and 10 pictures that represented which area of science they considered their favorite. There were a number of students who came up to me and asked if they could print it at my home because they didn't have color ink at home. And I was able to say yes thanks to you! I will always be grateful to people like you who value the education of our kids.”

  • We Love Technology

    Funded Jun 21, 2021

Words can't express how much these laptops meant to my students. Last year, all the laptops in my school were given out to students who needed technology leaving very few laptops in the building. The school was only able to provide me with 6 working laptops to share among 32 students so having the four extra laptops from your generous donation was a huge relief. My initial request was for five laptops but due to the the laptops being out of stock at the time the project was funded, I could only get four. What I did purchase was sanitizing wipes so we could wipe down the laptops in between each use to keep in line with Covid safety protocols. My students are extremely lucky to have donors like you!”

  • Here We Go Remotely Again

    Funded Dec 19, 2020

Thank you for your generous donation as we continue to teach our children remotely. Your contribution helped purchased lesson plans and many activities that will help us continue to make online learning as engaging and as interactive as we can make it during these unprecedented times in education. Your donation benefited the whole 8th grade as the science teachers work collaboratively on their lessons. The 6th and 7th grade also benefited so from this project so your impact has been reached our whole student population!”

  • Escape the Science Room!

    Funded Oct 1, 2020

In this new normal of in-person/remote learning, it is even more imperative to provide opportunities for students to be able to manipulate materials in school to keep them engaged. We used the locks and lockboxes as part of an "escape the room" experience for reviewing Newton's Laws of Motion. Students had to answer questions which lead them to a code that would open each combination lock. Even though it was a lot of work to make sure that everything was sanitized before and after use (including our hands!), it was well worth it to see the excitement of the students who were in the class. And what is great is that I can change the codes on the locks for the next escape the science room experience with other topics!

Thank you so much for your generosity in making this happen for my students!”

  • Making a Difference for Our Environment

    Funded May 6, 2020

I just want to thank you so much for your donation. Even through a pandemic, your kindness has made it possible for my students to still engage in hands-on learning in the hybrid model of teaching. My students were able to build eco-friendly structures to learn about sustainability. We are able test water samples for chlorine, lead, and nitrates from the school water fountain (thankfully all good) and from water I brought in from local ponds and rainwater. The kits that you funded are great tools to bring environmental issues to the forefront!”

  • Remote Learning Science Lessons

    Funded May 28, 2020

I just want to say a great heart-felt thank you for your generous donation and support! In these unprecedented times of remote learning, how do we engage students who are not in front of us, especially science? To add on to that, there are the new Next Generation Science Standards that has replaced former science curriculum to a more project/inquiry-based approach.

Thanks to you, I now have access to distance learning lesson plans as well as lesson plans aligned to NGSS. I have already used a digital "Escape the Room" lesson to assess student's knowledge on Genetics as well as reinforcing content learned in a fun manner.

I have also found Interactive Notebooks for different content areas so if there is the need for blended learning in September, my students are set! Again, thank you for supporting our children's education!”

  • “My Printer Ran Out Of Ink” Reason

    Funded Dec 3, 2019

I just want to send a very deep heart-felt thank you for your generous donation. Trust me when I say that my students were really excited to know that donors were happy to provide basic supplies such as paper and ink to help them with printing their projects. It is a good feeling to say "go ahead" when a student asks me if they can print something for class, whether it is for science class or for another subject. I have used the color paper to color code warm-up activities for the beginning of lessons to engage students and "hook" them in. Thank you again for helping me support the academic success of my students.”

  • True Detective

    Funded Sep 30, 2019

I just want to give you a heart-felt thank you from the bottom of my heart. The forensic kits your donation purchased made learning for my students fun and memorable. The moment the students walked in and saw the crime scene set up in the back of the classroom, the questions began in utter excitement. They couldn't wait to hear the story line so they could dive in to work with the clues. There is nothing like watching kids work through real-life scenarios to learn content and critical thinking skills, which is how science should be learned. Thank you for supporting our kids!”

  • Making Positive Human Impacts on the Environment

    Funded May 13, 2019

Thank you so much for your generous donation! The materials came just in time for my environmental science unit. Students were excited to run around the school to test the water using the lead, nitrate and copper tests. They also tested the water from local areas with water that they acquired near their homes. The air pollution kit was used to test air quality around the school building raising many great questions and further investigation about why their were different results on different sides of the school grounds. The student engagement was evident and the desire to learn was exciting to see. My hope is that they keep questioning their choices when it comes to maintaining a healthy and "green" environment!”
