Building Background Knowledge through Literacy and VR
Funded Feb 13, 2025I sincerely appreciate your generosity in providing our classroom with a VR headset and a collection of books. These resources will have a lasting impact on our students by strengthening their background knowledge and enhancing their learning experiences in meaningful ways. The books will allow students to explore new concepts, build vocabulary, and develop a deeper understanding of various subjects. Reading is essential for expanding their knowledge base, fostering curiosity, and improving comprehension skills that will benefit them across all areas of study.
The VR headset will take learning to a whole new level by immersing students in experiences that bring lessons to life. Whether exploring ancient civilizations, diving into the depths of the ocean, or traveling through space, students will gain a richer, more interactive understanding of the world around them. This hands-on approach helps make abstract concepts more tangible, increasing engagement and retention. With these tools, students can connect their learning to real-world experiences, making education more dynamic and meaningful. Thank you for your kindness and support in helping create an enriching classroom environment!”
With gratitude,
Ms. Colbert

Funded Jan 15, 2025Flexible seating and technology create an engaging and adaptable learning environment in a 5th-grade classroom. Flexible seating allows students to choose where and how they work best, promoting comfort, focus, and collaboration. It encourages movement, which can improve concentration and reduce restlessness. Technology enhances learning by providing interactive lessons, personalized instruction, and access to a wealth of resources beyond the textbook. Tools like tablets, smartboards, and educational apps make learning more dynamic and engaging, helping students develop critical thinking and digital literacy skills essential for the future. Together, these elements foster a student-centered classroom that supports different learning styles and needs. Thank you so much for your donations, this has made a HUGE impact on our classroom environment and learning strategies.”

Creating Memories on Pause Point Days
Funded Dec 3, 2024I am writing to express my heartfelt gratitude for your incredibly generous donation of the Cricut Maker 3 to our classroom. Your contribution has truly transformed the way we approach creativity, learning, and community engagement. Thanks to your donation, our students now have access to a tool that empowers them to bring their ideas to life in ways we never imagined possible.
The Cricut Maker 3 has not only enhanced our ability to create high-quality, personalized projects, but it has also opened up opportunities for students to explore their creativity and develop new skills. With this machine, our class has been able to design and create cards, banners, posters, and other items that we use for community outreach projects. For example, we've been able to craft personalized thank-you cards for local heroes, create motivational posters for school events, and even design custom materials for lessons that make learning feel more interactive and fun.
This has also allowed us to extend our lessons in a hands-on way, combining art, technology, and academics. Students now have the chance to make connections between the subjects they're studying and real-world applications. Whether we're creating visual aids for science projects, designing class T-shirts for a special event, or making custom bookmarks for our classroom library, the Cricut Maker 3 has become an invaluable tool that motivates and excites my students.
Your donation has had a lasting impact on our classroom. It fosters creativity, enhances collaboration, and gives students the freedom to express themselves through their work. It is helping them see the importance of design and artistry while connecting those skills to the broader world around them.
Thank you again for your generosity. Your support is inspiring, and we are so grateful to have it in our classroom.”

Funded Jul 11, 2021Thank you for your donations. My grade level was able to purchase many different resources to supplement in the classroom. Bringing student interest and motivation to our weekly lessons.
This primarily impacted our Social Studies block as we were able to find and purchase projects to allow students a deeper understanding of our United States history. From topics such as early civilizations, and Native Americans, all the way up to the American Revolution (and more).
Thank you so much we truly appreciate your generosity.”

Learning Through Organization
Funded Jan 24, 2021Thank you so much for your generous donations! This project for learning through organization was implemented immediately in our classroom. The students each have their own cube in which they store their own materials and personal belongings. In our classroom students sit at tables and share space with classmates, the cubes have given them a sense of personal space to store everything and keep it in a safe space.
The students were extremely excited to have a new way to store their belongings.
Thank you again for helping out our classroom!”

Voting on Their Future and Ours!
Funded Dec 3, 2019Thank you so much for your generous donations! This project was originally supposed to take place during the primary elections in May. Of course, due to the pandemic, we had to postpone until this semester. While some of the activities were slightly adjusted to fit our social distancing guidelines, the students have learned so much from this unit. We have learned and discussed voters' rights, campaigning, the branches of the government, and we will be having a debate this coming Monday!
The pictures attached demonstrate a few of the T-shirts created to campaign for the snack the individual students want to win during our Snack 2020 election on Tuesday. The students will wear these shirts, hang up posters, and pass out cards campaigning for the snack of their choice on Monday along with the debates and will wrap up the election unit with a grade-level vote on Tuesday (each person will receive a sticker once they have cast their vote). The snack that wins will be purchased and enjoyed by each 5th grade next Friday as a celebration!
Once again, without your donations, we would not have been able to accomplish a unit study like this in this capacity.”

Funded May 5, 2020Thank you so much for the donations to this project! I have attached photos that have been used using your donations. I am able to use these materials to document our activities throughout the school year that at the end of the year I will compile into a 5th-grade video for our students using the Macbook I was able to obtain with these donations.
I am also able to document experiences that I may have in my personal time, which allows me to bring these experiences back to my students to create a deeper understanding as I have a large amount of English Language Learners. These photos help provide a starting point for deeper conversations, personal connections, and building relationships with my students and between my students.
Once again, I am so grateful for your amazing donations. Without you, we would not be able to learn the way we currently are.”

Funded Apr 19, 2020Thank you so much for your generous donations! My class is still currently working on their projects using the Circut machine. We are in the middle of working with robots, our Outdoor Education activities/projects, and will be working on a class election at the end of October/early November!
Because of your donations, my students are able to take their ideas and make them come to life. This is creating a love for learning and allowing students to make personal connections to their learning.
Once again, we thank you for everything you have given our students!”

Language Arts Through Movie Making
Funded Dec 3, 2019First of all, thank you so much for the donations that you have made to my classroom and this specific project. By providing this tool to my classroom you have opened up so many new and exciting opportunities for my students!
We have already been able to use the Macbook to help create videos of commercials connecting it to our Langauge Arts standards. The students were able to use WeVideo along with iMovie to create their final products. They were so excited to see what their thoughts become reality.
Our next phase of using the Macbook will be using the Podcast app and a microphone (donated through another project) to create our very own Podcasts about topics we are learning in class!
Once again, we can not thank you enough for this generous donation!”
