My students and I appreciate your interest in helping us in the classroom with the purchase of these bookshelves. My students really enjoy reading and these shelves will allow me to give the students access to many more books that what I can currently display. It is such a wonderful sight to see children looking for a book that interests them.”

Crazy for Chromebooks
Funded May 10, 2013I cannot express how grateful my students and I are for your generous donation. We have explored many learning websites since we have received the computers. The students are learning to research information. They are currently working on biographies. They use the computers for math programs in order to master their basic facts. The students also learned how to blog. Right now we are working on writing through our class blog.
These computers are wonderful tools for the students. Many of my students do not have computers to use at home. I am excited to be able to teach the students through the Chromebooks.
Thank you for broadening my students learning.”

Listen Up!
Funded Sep 6, 2013Thank you for your generous donation in order to provide my students with a listening center. My students enjoy reading books. This listening center will help all of them be able to completely read a book.
With a listening center, my students will be able to hear and enjoy literature and improve their ability to answer higher order thinking questions. They will hear what a good reader sounds like and try to read in the same manner. This center will help students read more fluently and help them become proud, independent readers!”

Funded May 6, 2012I want to express my sincere appreciation for the books that your donation provided my students. The book, "Hatchet", by Gary Paulsen, was a wonderful book for my students to read. All of the students had a high interest in finishing the book once we began.
The teacher's guide and student's resource book provided me with many activities to use with the students throughout the whole book. The activities expanded the vocabulary, writing skills and the comprehension skills of the students. We read the book daily and the students would groan when the lesson would come to an end for the day.
My goal for this project was to provide my students with a sense of accomplishment on reading a chapter book and to have the students find a strong desire to read. When we completed the book, the students all commented that they couldn't wait to read the rest of the "Hatchet" series over the summer. I thank you for giving my students the opportunity to read.”

Mrs. Dodd
