My schools is a Title 1 NY public school school and many of my students are from low income homes. My students are all in self contained special education classes with a multitude of disabilities including speech/language, learning disabilities and emotional disturbances. The students struggle greatly with reading and writing; most are significantly below grade level. Currently we have very limited technological resources. Currently, my classroom has an overhead projector and I use a laptop borrowed for the school. We have limited access to computers, and the ones available are very old and many are broken(keys missing, cracked screens). My students are amazing learners despite their disabilities. They love to learn and are continuously seeking to improve themselves. I am looking for ways to engage them even further, expose them to greater resources and increase their academic success.
