We are a small rural school in Texas. Our school houses 550 students between third and fifth grade. They are curious and eager. They are eager for attention and structure. This is what many of them are lacking at home. Due to there low sociol-economic status, we tend to see a decline in experiences and knowledge these students bring to the classroom. One of the most significant factor of the difference in successful student is that they have a variety of books at hand. They have a plethora of background knowledge. I want to create this wealth in my classroom for theses students.
