  • iPad Chargers for Success

    Funded Jan 5, 2024

We were so grateful to get replacement chargers for students and their iPads! Thank you for donating to this cause!

Students are issued a single charger when they are first issued their iPad and supposed to keep it intact over multiple years while they wear down from regular use. Students have been able to receive a replacement charger and come now prepared for each day.

The chargers are being given out as needed and we have several now so any remaining will be kept for distribution in the years to come!”

    With gratitude,

  • School Kitchen Materials

    Funded Apr 4, 2023

Our new kitchen items have arrived upon our return from Spring Break and the students were super excited. We spent time unboxing and labeling the items. Our school kitchen was recently organized so it was nice to add these fresh, new, much needed items!

The oven mitts were much needed and the grippers on our new ones will help with students' motor needs. The oven rack protectors will also be super helpful as students with motor challenges often get burned trying to put items in/out of the oven. It is also nice for students to know these products exist and can be purchased for their own home ovens.

The cleaning supplies are also a must and students are a part of the cleaning process whenever we cook. These items will be greatly used as we get to cooking more!”

  • Binders Binders Binders Rocking Everywhere!

    Funded Sep 1, 2020

I have been working on reboxing these binders in order to more easily get them to school so they are ready when students start coming back! It'll be nice to have these binders available for students and be one less thing that some families need to track down and plan for as most all school supplies are not in surplus mid-year.

The binders have been helpful each year in keeping the middle school students organized. These specific ones allow the students to wear their binder easier around their shoulders and have everything they need for classes.

Thanks you again for contributing to this project and helping students be ready for this chaotic year ahead!”

  • AVID Student Care Packages

    Funded May 5, 2020

Thank you so much for contributing to our care packages for our 8th graders final year with us. It was nice to be able to deliver them something fun from school since the end of their school year ended in such an isolated way!

Our students were so excited to have teachers drive by with a car parade and drop off their goodies. Many sent emails of gratitude after that day and said how much they miss school. So thank you again for contributing and being a part of trying to make the end of their school year a little better!”

  • Fractions, and Decimals, and Percents, Oh My!

    Funded Dec 28, 2019

Thank you for contributing to my class project with fractions, decimals, and percents! We were able to dig into the fraction games right away! It has given us another way to interact with the content.

The fraction cards have been great materials to use in order to use a dry erase and solve. They also provide good visuals in order to problem solve and work through the math.

While I'm planning for distance learning, I've been trying to plan for ways to keep using the materials with students via video conferencing.”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. O'Meara

  • Math Literature!

    Funded Dec 9, 2019

We are so grateful for the donations in order for our Math students to have more books that relate to the concepts that we are learning. We received so many great books that focus on math concepts and we will be using these throughout this year.

Right away I was able to use Equal Shmequal with my 5th grade class. We were working on balancing equations and this was a fabulous story that illustrated the concept with some animals working through balancing. Students then practiced writing and sharing how it applies to math.

These books give an integrated opportunity to also use our reading and writing skills in math!”

    With gratitude,

  • Spring School Supplies!

    Funded Jul 27, 2019

Thank you so much for your financial contributions to provide some of the basic supplies required to help our scholars be successful each day. The binders have been very beneficial to starting their year off right and being organized. We have gone through them quickly and students have been using them daily to come to class prepared.

In addition, the pencil pouches, notebooks, and highlighters are all being put to use and have found their homes inside student binders. Middle school is a great learning time to manage materials and increase in responsibility. Thank you for helping contribute the the start of a successful year!”

  • EMPOWER Me In 2019

    Funded May 7, 2019

Thank you so much for contributing to my professional development this past summer! It was very fun to be part of the first year of the Empower Conference. I was able to use my time in Houston to recenter and refocus myself in order to prepare for this coming year. The burnout in education is becoming a crisis and we need events like this to bring educators together and support each other to be their best selves.

I am grateful to have been given the opportunity to collaborate and get inspired from some amazing educators from around the U.S. In addition, I got to spend the time with one of my favorite coworkers for the week!”

  • Chromebooks for Kids

    Funded Jul 5, 2018

Thank you so much for your support of technology with 4 new Chromebooks in my classroom. The students have been able to transition into the greater independence required in 6th grade by getting online to check their grades and access websites like BrainPop to complete assignments.

The students had a great time guessing what was in the packages, opening them up and setting up the Chromebooks. We found a great space for them within the classroom and have decorated them with college themed stickers as our students focus on college readiness through the AVID curriculum.

Again, we are very thankful for this technology addition to our classroom and appreciate your ability to support us financially to meet our needs.”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. O'Meara

My students use my classroom both as a learning environment for direct instruction in Math, Language Arts, and College Readiness as well as a safe space to take a break from the stressors of their day. I strive to offer a learning environment that meets their needs while also reflecting my belief in their path to higher education. The flexible seating and standing desks will be used during instruction for Math and Language Arts as well as when students are in my room completing their work for other classes with my support. I have purchased some seating options already on my own, any additional support is much appreciated! The standing desks, Big Joe Chairs, stacking stools, and college team bungee seats will be comfortable seating options, and will add to my already flexible classroom.
