The donations to this project will help to improve my students' understanding of basic math concepts. The products that I have selected will help my students by giving them a hands-on learning experience. I am a special education teacher of K-8th graders at a Title I school in Nevada. A high percentage of my students come from bilingual homes. Students come to my class with work from their math classes, I have requested math activities and games for my students because they will use math every day for the rest of their lives. When you have a severe disability math can be a hard concept to learn without hands-on manipulatives and activities. Using a hands-on approach to teach math allows a student to see how the problems work. Manipulatives and games would make learning enjoyable for my students. Teaching the fundamental math skills at an early age will help my students be successful in math throughout their life.
