At the Touch of a Button!
Funded Oct 26, 2022We absolutely love our button maker! The students are having so much fun designing different buttons! So far, we designed buttons for World Kindness Day, our Fifth Grade Spelling Bee, Black History Month, and Respect for All Week! The students were very excited to learn how the button maker works, and see their design transform into something they can proudly wear! We look forward to our upcoming button making projects which include designs to promote Read Across America and Women in History Month! All students from kindergarten through fifth grade have been involved in our projects as well as their teachers! It's so nice to see everyone wearing their buttons throughout the school!”

Funded Jan 28, 2022Thank you for giving my students the opportunity to have a hands on experience learning about dinosaurs! They were so excited to see all the materials when they arrived! After reading and researching about all different types of dinosaurs, the students were eager to get to work, and dig for dinosaurs!
The students had a great time digging for fossils. They enjoyed using the sifters to find the fossils in the sand. When it came time to match the fossil to the excavation guide, the students found it difficult. They were amazed at how different the dinosaur looked as a fossil. Some of the dinosaurs were very similar, so the students really had to pay close attention to all the details to figure out which dinosaur it was.
Chipping away at the dinosaur eggs provided the students with a great understanding of what it was like to find dinosaur bones. They couldn't wait to see what dinosaur they would find! The dinosaur tablets were so helpful during this time because it enabled the students to learn more about the dinosaur they discovered!
The students research and work is displayed outside the library for all to see. It showcases all the hard work and dedication the students put into this dinosaur unit thanks to you all. You made their learning experience one to remember!”

During COVID, Sharing Is Not Caring!
Funded Sep 17, 2020Thank you so much for supporting the Library! The students were able to complete various projects. We are currently working on a Mo Willems author study, so the supplies are extremely helpful for our authors and illustrators to complete their own books! We are also working on replicating our community by studying the architecture, types of music, food, and clothing. The students are very excited they have the opportunity to still complete these activities. In a time where we have to maintain our distance, these projects have brought us closer together.”

Funded Sep 20, 2019Thank you for giving my students the opportunity to earn their "Green Thumbs." Although we did not get to plant our garden yet due to the pandemic, they will continue in third grade when we return to school. The students loved learning about fruits, vegetables, and the different types of seeds to plant. Their curiosity led us to learning about aquaponics, and having an aquaponics system in the Library! Your generosity has created a room full of eager learners with beautiful garden boxes waiting for them!”
