The doc cam allows me to show them what I am looking for and different ways to solve problems. They also enjoy coming up and working directly on the material that we are working on. I have saved a lot of time because I do not have to copy or rewrite information on the board.

We were so blessed to receive the technology, but without the proper cart we were not able to use it often and I was always scared of what might happen. The cart has helped alleviate some of that worry and has given me a place to set out my curriculum and just worry about teaching.
The students didn't just "smile and nod" they really grasped the concepts behind what was being taught. The technology helps create a clear picture and helps me demonstrate to the students what I am looking for. I am able to take learning to the next step.

Your donation has given me the opportunity to open their eyes a little wider when teaching math. Tasks that seem so abstract can become more concrete with the manipulatives. Students have the opportunity to come up to the overhead and move things around and I can show the students exactly what I'm looking for. It has really made a lot of lengthy explanation unnecessary because I can just show them. This year, it has been amazing to be able to pair what I typically teach with these wonderful models.
The students didn't just "smile and nod" while I was teaching, I could tell they were getting it. If a student can explain what they have learned then I know that I have done my job. These manipulatives give students the opportunity to do just that!

It works great for group work and center times as well.

In years past it has been a topic that I scrape over with little depth because I do not have the resources to teach it well.
The students didn't just "smile and nod" they really grasped the concepts behind the specific alternative energies by being able to create their own projects. They were able to demonstrate what the advantages and disadvantages were of each energy. The explanation is the part that heightens my enthusiasm. If a student can explain what they have learned then I know that I have done my job. The cameras have been a wonderful tool to increase excitement in learning!

Create Life-Long Citizens with PE!
Funded Mar 4, 2010Thank you so much for your generous donation to our school. PE equipment always seems to be last on the list to be bought and many times it is even looked over. The students enjoy PE very much and our PE Coach does a wonderful job with the limited resources.
Your gift will add some much needed supplies to the PE closet and will generate excitement when the students get to play new games that they have not been able to play because of a lack of supplies.
I know the upper grade boys will especially love the footballs, it seems like they would play flag football everyday if they were given the opportunity.

Your donation has given me the opportunity to open their eyes a little wider to the joys of science. The task of teaching science concepts can be somewhat overwhelming. In years past there have been topics that I scraped over with little depth because I do not have the resources to teach it well. This year, it was amazing to be able to pair what I typically teach with the technology resource. The students didn't just "smile and nod" they really grasped the concepts behind what was being taught. I was able to show examples of what we were discussing by pulling items up from the Internet or showing video clips. They were able to demonstrate what they knew about alternative resources and give presentations to their peers other grade levels. The explanation is the part that heightens my enthusiasm. If a student can explain what they have learned then I know that I have done my job. You have made that part of the process happen! Science concepts are no longer just vocabulary words that was presented on the board or in a book. The students are able to identify real-life examples.
The pictures shown are of students prepping for their presentations and a few are of students who watched. I'm sorry I did not get any of the students doing their presentations, because I was so occupied by watching the amazing things they put together.
