I teach fourth grade in a high-poverty, K-5 school in the state of Michigan where 100% of our students get free breakfast and lunch. Many of my students have parents that work multiple jobs just to keep food on the table. For many of them, having any type of modern technology in their home is unlikely. On top of that, many of them come from households where parents can't read to help their children with homework, or even read them simple stories. These same children are being expected to perform in school and on tests using 21st century technology that they are unfamiliar with. I plan to change that!
