  • Add and Subtract

    Thank you so much for all our math materials. We are using these materials in small groups.

    When I first opened the boxes my students couldn't wait to use them.

    We are working together to continue to build fluency in our math knowledge. Using these materials in centers is helping us to learn while having fun.

    They will be used throughout the year to continue to reinforce our knowledge of addition and subtraction. We are building our mathematical base for the future.

    During choice time, many of my students choose to do math which was not happening before these materials were donated to us.”

  • Writing Time

    My students are so excited using their writing materials. When we opened the boxes l, the class was filled with cheers. When they saw the bright colors of the cardstock, they were so excited. The many choices of colors added to their excitement.

    We have used the materials during our writing lessons. My students are creating pictures, labeling them and writing sentences. Of course, the addition of dry erase makers and dry erase pockets gave them the opportunity to practice over and over again.

    These materials have brought about an eagerness to write in class. Our writing center has become one of the favorite centers in our class.

  • All Ears

    Thank you so much for enough headphones to provide all my students with the opportunity to work without distractions.

    My students love them. They love having their own headphones and not sharing with their classmates. They take care of them and know to be gentle because otherwise they will break.

    When using iPads, most students immediately put on their headphones and are able to focus much better. I have seen the difference when they complete their online assessments. My students scored have improved when headphones are used.”

  • Developing a Love for the Arts

    Thank you so much for your donations. We have had so much fun exploring art. Our new favorite activity as become painting. We paint then use various materials to create amazing pieces. We feel like true artists. Many of our work is abstract but when we bring it to the carpet to share, the bright eyed look on the children who immediately yell "that's what I thought" and then another will say but "I saw...." These materials are providing such an amazing learning community within my classroom. I truly believe they will carry this with them throughout life and their education.”

  • Mark It Up!

    It is Amazing to see how excited my students are using these materials. We have used elkonin boxes in class but when they saw these, their eyes lit up.

    They love the magnetic boards. Being able to slide them back and forth, hold them up without falling. It has amazed them.

    They are able to use the ten frame boards the same way. It also helps them

    Count to 20. Many were missing some of the teen numbers when counting but the constant repetition using the ten frames has helped most of them count correctly, without missing numbers.

    When we do choice time, these are the most popular activities in the class.

    When we are working in groups these help keep everyone engaged and excited about the lessons.”
