Versatiles Versatility on the Go!
Funded May 25, 2021I am so appreciative of your generosity. My students are so excited to be able to practice their reading skills in this new way. They quickly learned how to use the Versatiles and then took off on their own completing tasks. They were surprised and thrilled to discover how the self-checking works. Theyparticularly like this feature because no one else need know when they make errors and they can easily see how to make corrections. I heard a chorus of " this is so much fun" the very first day.
Being able to go outside is a BIG bonus. Thank you.”

Funded May 4, 2021Thank you so very much for your generous contributions to this project. My students were so excited to have a place to keep their books up right and organized in their at home libraries. It also allowed me to send home more books with them for summer reading which is so important.
They were surprised and thankful for this wonderful gift and I couldn't have done it without your help.
Each student picked the colors they liked and it really made their day.
They say it takes a village, thank you for being part of ours.”

Funded Dec 2, 2020I am extremely grateful for your contributions which enabled me to provide warm Coats, sweats and socks during our coldest months, to needy students who were lacking these essential items. It breaks my heart to see kids coming to school without items we normally take for granted. It was especially helpful to those students whose parents opted to send them to school in person during these trying times.
The look of delight on the students faces was priceless! You helped brighten otherwise dark days of COVID reality for these children.”

Funded Jan 6, 2021Thank you SO much for funding my project and bringing smiles to the faces of my students during these trying times. I was able to provide games that are educational AND fun, to students who are home due to COVID which initially hit this minority community very hard.
The ability to give the same game to multiple students allowed them to connect with one another and me. I use commercial games such as Guess Who to teach important concepts like attention to detail and the use of adjectives as well as increasing attention span. You have truly made a difference in the lives of my students.”

Funded Jun 21, 2012Thank you so much for your generosity in helping our kids to become more active in participating in the creation of bulletin boards. Our district has limited resources and therefor my students do not often get the benefit of the "extras". The ability to come up with the ideas for creative boards and then actually create them for the enjoyment of their peers is invaluable. Everyone reaps the benefit and the building is beautified.
We greatly appreciate your continued support of innovative ideas in education and of the students whose lives you positively effect.
Thank You!”

Catching Fire! Book? Yes, My Students Are Catching Fire Too!
Funded Jun 21, 2012I would like to take this opportunity to express my sincere thanks for your funding of my project. I have worked as a reading specialist in the same district for over 25 years now at various grade levels. I have never seen my students so excited about recreational reading before. That is quite a statement given that reading is my focus. I am always searching for new ways to engage my reluctant readers and instill in them a lifelong love of learning and of reading. Last year, that quest led me to read The Hunger Games with my classes, discussing the book as we went along, designed similarly to an adult book group. It was such a success that they were all clamoring to read the next book in the series, which is where you all came in.
Our district is in a high need, low, socio-economic area. There is no money for "extras" and therefor, often times, out kids go without simple things that others take for granted. Because they were all so excited about continuing with the series, I decided to try Donors Choose to make their dream a reality. They were beyond thrilled to lean that the project had been funded. You have made it possible not only that group to continue reading but for future groups to also enjoy this modern, epic tale! Thank you so very much for your dedication and commitment to out young people.”

Ms. Benedetto
