Scientific Discovery Empowered Through Art With Students
Funded Mar 7, 2016Dear Donors,
My students and I are having a great time talking about the insects, frogs, and other living creatures in our room thanks to your support. We have learned a lot from this study. We are viewing the many changes that occur through scientific discoveries and documenting what we see and what we have learned. We have had the opportunity to draw ladybugs, tadpoles, and meal worms. After the first stage of their lives we have have noticed the changes and then learned how to draw the real life representations of the animals. My students we so excited to see the ladybugs and meal worms. The commented on how they moved, the differences in their bodies, the students talked about what to feed them and what they needed to survive. We are going to follow up on this study by reading books about the life cycles, understanding how to care for the animals, and how we can care for all living creatures on this Earth through Scientific Discovery.”

Mad Mathematicians
Funded Mar 12, 2013When we received the materials to enhance our math skills throughout the classroom the children were very excited to open the packages and see the new items that they could play with while enhancing their math skills. One of the students was so excited to see the new multicultural food items and began asking about the different foods. He began sorting them on plates and telling other students that only 6 people could have pizza because there were only six pieces.
The students will be using the magnetic boards to sort, count, classify, and understand concepts of more or less while engaging in fun learning activities. While playing in the dramatic play area teachers will help students sort different food groups, classify the different cultural foods, and do basic math skills that include adding, subtracting, and learning how to set up simple math equations.
This project enhanced our learning and teaching opportunities by providing materials that allow the children to learn while they play in a familiar setting that is comfortable while promoting opportunities for children to teach their peers the skills they have learned so that teachers can provide new activities that will continue intriguing the curiosity of children so they are excited to learn.”

Little Artists
Funded Oct 10, 2012I would just like to acknowledge how much I appreciate all of your support with our art project. The children in my class have been engaged in many wonderful creative projects with your generous support. My students have been able to create projects that promote their unique creativity by having materials that allow them to use many different types of media. My students have created art projects that will be treasured by their families for many years to come. We have created items using clay, paint, various adhesives, and three dimensional backdrops. Thank you for supporting an important part of the creative growth and development that budget cuts kept us from. Your help and support is greatly appreciated.”

Funded Sep 15, 2012I know that writing a letter can not convey the way I feel about your generous support. The students in my class now have the materials necessary for them to engage in outdoor learning experiences that include investigating and observing naturalistic scenarios that incorporate relevant, meaningful everyday parts of their lives. The children have been observing birds, insects, and changes in the flora and fauna in their immediate environment. Your generous donation has provided us with materials necessary to develop skills that expand scientific investigations and curiosity within the students. Thank you so much for your support.”

This classroom project was brought to life by Kaplan Early Learning Company and 2 other donors. The Magical World Of Storytelling
Funded Sep 17, 2012Our class would just like to let you know what an important impact you have had on our program. The students in the room are engaging in literacy activities that enhance reading skills, letter awareness, sight words, cooperative learning opportunities, and dramatic play. We can not thank you enough for your generous support.
I know that if you had time to come into the classroom you would enjoy watching the children retell the stories with the puppets. The inflection and tone in their voices as they act out each individual character is phenomenal.
We love you Grandma Kathy.”

Get Up And Get Moving!
Funded Mar 20, 2012This is just a note to let you all know how grateful we are for your help keeping our students active and fit. We have been having outdoor physical activities with a variety of the items in our Get Up and Get Moving project. We have incorporated movements that include jumping, crawling, hopping, galloping, spatial awareness of over, under, around, inside, and outside. Most of all our children have an awareness of how important it is to stay active and fit through fun exercise. We know that this equipment has impacted their lives because they request to play with the equipment when we are out in the big field.”
