ACT Up!

Act Now for the ACT
Funded Nov 24, 2010Thank you for your contribution to Act Now for the ACT project which has provided each of my students with an ACT prep book and CD. The students were very excited to open the package and receive the materials. We are registering for the June ACT test later this month and the books and CD's will be an invaluable resource for the students. I have a month set aside in which the materials, including the practice tests on the CD and in the book, will be used as the foundation and primary resource of a preparation course for these students. Because the books are theirs, and they can take them home or wherever they go, and they can mark and highlight as much as they need to, the students will able to get maximum use from the materials so graciously donated and made possible by your contribution.
As you know the ACT is an important factor in determining which colleges they will get accepted into and the amount of financial aid available to them. Your contribution makes possible the opportunity for these students to increase their ACT scores, enhance their college applications, and qualify for better financial aid packages.

Let's Get Organized.
Funded Dec 10, 2008Thank you for your donation to the Let's Get Organized proposal. Especially in an economy as uncertain as today, it is reassuring to know that there are still people out there willing to support education.
My students have already started the college readiness curriculum. We were able to scrounge some second-hand (maybe even third or fourth hand) binders for student use, but some of these binders are in rough shape--with edges fraying, bent or broken rings and binders that would be rejected by almost any professional organization.
Thus, your support is going to make an immediate difference for these students--to have serviceable binders to help them keep their research organized. Since they will be using these binders for the next year or so, your gift will help us over and over again.
