My students are awesome. They are repeat freshmen, meaning, they have already taken Freshman English before. This time though, they are ready to pass. They all have a different attitude this year about English and realize that they need this class to graduate. I would like the book Hunger Games for my students to read because there are no other classroom book sets in our Freshman curriculum that the students have not read. We only have about 6 novels for our students to read, and out of those it is hard to find one that most of them haven't read. I have mostly 15 and 16 year old students but some students are older. I teach in an urban high school where reading is not something that most students enjoy. I want to use this book to get the students excited about this reading.
