  • Headphones For Pianos!

    Funded Oct 1, 2019

Thank you, again, for your generous donations to my students at Marin Elementary School. The headphones that were purchased because of your generosity my students are able to enjoy playing the piano. It is also much quieter in the classroom now!

Not only are the students using the headphones to play their pianos, but they are also able to use the headphones when using their iPads for various classroom activities. They are using a GarageBand, a program that allows them to create and record their own songs. This is a very popular program with the students. Again, the headphones keep the noise in the classroom down and the students can hear what they are creating! Thank you donors!”

    With gratitude,

    Mr. Frieson

  • Make Some Noise!!!

    Funded Aug 31, 2019

Thank you so much for donating to my school's music program. Most importantly, thank you for investing in kids!

These classroom instruments will no doubt be very useful in the my students' music education. I look forward to sending pictures of them using the instruments in the near future!”

    With gratitude,

    Mr. Frieson

Playing and creating rhythms is a major part of my music class. Giving kids a safe and creative space to do so is important to their growth as young musicians/artists. In addition to providing opportunities for creativity, drumming has been shown to reduce stress and negative feelings in students. These requested plastic buckets, drumsticks, and The Bucket Book: A Junkyard Percussion Manual will be used to teach the basics of drumming. Students will also get to learn how to play as a band. At the end of each week there will be a performance where students will have the opportunity to display what they have learned during the week. Leading up to the performance we will do lessons that support the rhythm and technique needed for the performance to be successful. Students will also have the opportunity to create and improvise their own rhythm. My school's mission is to educate mentally, physically, and socially. With bucket drumming I can achieve just that while making music!
