Art Supplies for Remote Learning
Funded Dec 2, 2020We are now fully funded because of generous donations like yours! My students will be so excited to receive their very own art supplies to use at home during remote learning. I am looking forward to being able to teach them how to use their new materials and increase student engagement during this crazy time. Thank you so much for donating and spreading the word.”

This classroom project was brought to life by FamilyAlbum and 9 other donors.Art Gallery to Show Our Talents!
Funded Feb 14, 2017I am having trouble finding the words to thank you all for your generous donations. Building this gallery has been a long process and a learning experience for my students and I. I have been teaching art for over 15 years and I have never had the opportunity to have a gallery just for student artwork. We usually get a small space with limited lighting and often our work gets forgotten. I have seen really great gallery spaces in other schools but never had the budget or means to create one of my own. That all changed this year when you all decided to donate and support my students.
I have a large loft area in my classroom that for years has gone unused. But my students and I saw the potential for a beautiful space to properly display their work. We re-purposed old doors to create "walls" and hung lighting and frames from each door. Two students designed and painted a mural with the well known quote "make art not war" hoping to create a space of peace and creativity. We had help from carpentry classes to fix up some of the "rough edges" and finally we painted the old floor. The end result, is what I think a unique, beautiful, student generated art gallery. It authentically reflects our school and population.
We collected both 2d and 3d artwork from all the art teachers in our building so that it really affects the entire school and helps to build community. The look on my students faces when they see their artwork hung in a frame, with gallery style lighting for the first time has been amazing! They are all so proud of the work they created to hang in the gallery and the work they did to build the gallery. It is our hope to have several art shows each school year so many students will be represented.
Our official opening is this Friday and we could not have done it with out your generous donations. I will try to share pictures of the opening if possible (right now I can only upload 6). Thank you again from the bottom of my heart.”

Bones, Bones and More Bones
Funded Dec 23, 2010I want to express my sincerest gratitude to all of you for donating to this project. It means so much to me and all of my students that you have so generously donated funds to enhance our school.
With the funds donated, we will receive the supplies we need to study the human body for years to come. We will use the skeletons to explore and understand the skeletal system and then create drawings and projects to demonstrate our understanding.
My students love hands on projects that combine the arts and core subjects, and your generosity is greatly appreciated. I cannot thank you enough and hope you continue to donate to donorschoose.org in the future. Our education system in the US will thrive because of individuals like you.”

Art Advocacy in Our School
Funded Jan 12, 2010Thank you so very much for your generous donation. Because of you generosity our students were able to create ceramic tiles representing themselves and what they have learned during their time at our school. These tiles have been included in a permanent installation in our school building and will serve as the legacy of our students now that they have graduated.
The arts are such an important part of a child's education and your support has helped us in many ways. I cannot thank you enough for your generosity and continued support of the arts. ”
