My plan for the white art clay and variety of gloss glazes is to offer my students a clay experience that has in prior years had limitations. I will use guided instruction to create a different clay project with each grade level beginning from Kindergarten to 5th grade. The white art clay will be used by all students to create their individual clay projects. Students will choose from a wide variety of gloss glazes to add color to their pottery. I will use the kiln wash to prep the kiln shelves for firing and the LG-10 transparent glaze as a coat of protection on all final pieces. A variety of clay techniques and terms will be introduced based on age level and will be in alignment with state and national Art Education standards. In the past eleven years of teaching Art, clay has always offered a special sense of excitement that is evident when the students walk into the classroom and see clay on the tables. I would be thrilled to be able to offer my students that excitement and create with them something they can keep for a lifetime.
