Can You Hear Me Now?
Funded Oct 8, 2020Thank you so much for taking an interest in my class. We greatly appreciate your generosity. Because of you we now have enough microphones for all of our students to have their own microphone. Now students don't need to share microphones between recordings. This means we do not need to disinfect the microphones between every use.
During these pressing times, it is the simple things that make a big impact. My students are thrilled that they don't have to worry about waiting until someone else's microphone is disinfected before they can use it.
Thank you so much.”
With gratitude,
Mr. Micale
Can You Hear Me Now?
Funded Jan 26, 2020My class loves using the USB microphones that were purchased with your generosity. They use them daily to make recordings of themselves. The microphones help reduce the background noise while recording, while simultaneously making their voices more clearly heard.
The microphones greatly increase the quality of their videos. Many of these videos are of the students explaining how to do different types of skills. The videos are ultimately seen by their parents and guardians. They love the quality of the videos when the USB microphones are used.
We greatly appreciate your generosity. People like you make the world a better place.”

Making in Mr. Micale's Room
Funded Feb 28, 2019Cardboard can be used to create so many awesome things, but cutting cardboard is typically extremely dangerous or extremely difficult depending on how you do it. Really sharp tools, such as box cutters, cut cardboard very well, but these things are far too dangerous to allow students to use them. Safer options, like scissors, don't work on corrugated cardboard at all.
TheVonHaus cardboard cutters were the perfect solution to cutting cardboard. They are safer than using scissors and more efficient than using box cutters. The students absolutely loved cutting with these tools.
Their creations were only limited by their creativity. Students built small houses and cars with them. They participated in competitions to build the most perfect cubes and circles out of cardboard. These activities would not have gone as smoothly without the donations for these awesome tools.”

Funded Jan 24, 2019The network adapter that we received from your donations has allowed us to add an additional 54 square feet to our classroom. You can see the increase in space from the pictures.
The new classroom space has become our new makerspace. This will be an area where students will be able to let their creativity run wild. We love using the cardboard cutter to design and create our most imaginative ideas.
The headset splitter, USB hub, and microphone have all made using our Chromebooks more efficient. The headset splitter allows two students to use their headphones with the same Chromebook. We use a USB hub to attach multiple USB devises to the Chromebooks and the microphone allows us to create videos with better audio quality.
These products have helped make my classroom more productive. Thank you for your generosity.”

Aquaponics: Farming of the Future!
Funded Mar 9, 2012My students and I greatly appreciate your generosity and support. Because of you they were able to continue to monitor the fish tank's water quality by testing the nitrates, nitrites, chlorine, PH, water hardness, ammonia, and even the dissolved oxygen. The grow light has enabled our plants, watercress, to sprout and grow.
The students have learned about the symbiotic relationship that take place between the trout and the watercress. The fish help the plants flourish by providing them with nitrogen, and the plants help maintain the aquarium water quality for the fish.
The students have really enjoyed taking care of, and learning about fish and plants. We have recently released the majority of our brook trout into a local stream. The students had an absolute blast doing this. With a little luck these fish survive and become reproducing adult brook trout.
We couldn't have done this without you. ”
