  • Brrr It's Cold

    Funded Nov 30, 2022

It was amazing that we were able to give the students a wonderful Christmas gift of Mittens, chap sticks, Christmas sticker scenes, holiday pencils , winter activity book, crayons and a connect four mini game. The students were very excited about putting on the winter gear to help them battle the cold. The mittens were cozy and colorful. The chap sticks were in a variety of flavors and the students were immediately putting them on their sweet lips.

The last day before winter break the students were assembling the holiday sticker scenes.”

  • Back to Basics

    Funded Nov 17, 2022

Thank you so much for donating the " Back to Basics" These basics like pencils, whiteboard markers, glue sticks, school glue, number lines and thin black markers are crucial to our everyday functioning. It is so nice to have 200 pre-sharpened pencils. The students use the wipe off number lines everyday. They are used for addition, subtraction and skip counting. The white school glue and glue sticks came in handy when making the parent Christmas gifts. The students loved getting new materials. It's a relief not to worry that the basic everyday supplies are going to run out.”

Tihey are sorting words in to vowel sounds, word families, cvc words and blends. In math, they are strengthenin their reading, problem solving, problem solving, subtraction and addition skills.

  • Hands on Learning!

    Funded Sep 20, 2022

My students are so excited to use the journals. They write, draw and express their ideas. The worksheets in The Orton Gillingham workbook has helped strenthened their understanding of short and long vowels. They are starting to comprehend that there are multiple spellings that match each long vowel sound. This willl help them become better spellers in general which will lead to better writing.

The "less than/great than" alligator visual has helped students see concretely which group/ number the alligator will eat.

The cookies are used as rewards for there hungry bodies and brains!”

  • Books to Teach Kindness

    Funded May 5, 2022

The books are a great addition to our classroom curriculum . They support Social Emotional Learning as well as give the students an opportunity to hear these stories in our "read aloud time". The genre is fiction that relates to honesty, recycling, humbleness, kindness, making friends, manners and expressing emotions.

I usually read these books aloud to students and show them YouTube videos so they can access the videos at home and show them to their siblings and parents. Some students revisit these books to read the content or to look at the detailed rich illustrations and awesome bright colors.

Since these books are hard covered they will last for many years.”

  • Diary of a 2nd Grader

    Funded Apr 21, 2022

I was knocked of my socks when I read the email "Your project got funded." I couldn't be any happier, it was like winning the lotto!. This project included colored pencils, high lighters, pencil sharpeners thin black felt tip pens, journals with lines and a separate area to draw a picture. I have been waiting for months for the school to fill my supply order for highlighters and black felt tip pens. I am glad this project got funded this year and the students were able to use all this goodies. My students were so excited they wanted to open the brown shipping boxes. They couldn't believe that they had their own set of colored pencils. they were able to use their journals and use their imaginations to write and draw.”
