  • Technology Builds Life-Long Learners

    Funded Nov 2, 2012

Thank you for donating to my project and providing my students with the important technology tool of wireless headphones. My students are now able to build reading, comprehension and vocabulary skills, and enjoy the magic of literature through an audio experience.

The students are excited to be able to sit at their desks, and in various spots in the classroom to use the listening center. No more being stuck at a crowded table. The classroom atmosphere is quieter and more conducive for learning. With class sizes being larger now, the impact of wireless headphones on the students' learning experiences is enormous. No more headphone wires to interfere with their learning. The whole listening center experience is much more enjoyable for the students. The headphones also allow me to differentiate instruction and provide my English Language Learners with another method to build language skills.

Thank you for giving me the tools to build life-long learners. Your generosity is positively impacting the future of our children. It is encouraging knowing that companies are willing to make a difference in educating children, especially during these times of devastating budget cuts.”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Farrell

  • Print It Up Pronto!

    Funded Oct 11, 2011

I want to extend my heartfelt gratitude for your generosity in funding my request for an HP laser jet printer and supplies. Already it has made a difference in

the classroom. We are learning about animals on the different continents. As you can tell from the photos, we learned about Asia and the panda. I was able to search and print out pictures and information. We wrote a report on the panda using the information and also did our incredible panda art project. It was so fun for the children. I don't know if you can tell from the pictures, but all of the black areas of the panda are individually torn pieces of paper. I was able to give the children a new art experience thanks to you. Next stop, Africa and the giraffe. It is encouraging knowing that companies and

individuals are willing to make a difference in educating children,

especially during these times of devastating budget cuts.”

  • Help Me Turn My Students Green!

    Funded Dec 29, 2010

"With much gratitude I thank you for your generosity in funding our

project. As you can see, the students love spending time in the garden.

They are eager to learn about seeds and plants. We've planted carrots,

sunflower seeds, radishes, onions and beans. In the classroom our

root-vue farm shows them how plant roots look under the soil. Our tickle

me seeds have sprouted and each student has his/her own plant to take

home at the end of the school year. We've learned so much and have had

experienced many hands-on planting projects. In the spring we will watch

the amazing transformation from caterpillar to butterfly. What the

children have learned and the experiences they've had goes so far beyond

the pages in a book. Again, thank you for helping me raise the

awareness of my students on how to "Be Green."”

  • Can You Hear It Now? Learning Comes Alive!

    Funded Sep 14, 2010

I want to extend my heartfelt gratitude for your generosity in funding my request for wireless headphones and a transmitter for my students. The students are excited about being able to sit at their desks and in various spots in the classroom to use the listening center. No more being stuck at a crowded table. With class sizes becoming larger this year the impact of these headphones on the students' learning is enormous. No more headphone wires to interfere with their learning. The whole listening center experience is much more enjoyable for my kids. It is encouraging knowing that companies

and individuals are willing to make a difference in educating children,

especially during these times of devastating budget cuts.”

  • Print It Up - Now My Students Can See in Color!

    Funded Mar 30, 2010

I want to extend my heartfelt gratitude for your generosity in funding my request for a

HP Photosmart printer and supplies. Already it has made a difference in the classroom. With my first grade students doing animal reports, I have been able to search and print out color pictures for them, as without computers at home, they were unable to do so. For a variety of projects, I have been able to take photos of my students, download and make multiple copies. I am looking forward to discovering so many uses for the Photosmart printer. It is encouraging knowing that companies and individuals are willing to make a difference in educating children, especially during these times of devastating budget cuts.”

  • Turn On The Learning With Elmo!

    Funded Feb 27, 2010

I can't begin to tell you how our document camera has already positively impacted our classroom. The students love our "ELMO". We refer to it as if it is a member of our classroom. When I turn it on for use, the kids say "Wake up ELMO." The fact that I can put anything under the camera to project on the board is amazing and specifically viewing information and lessons in color grabs the students' attention and has more impact. They are more focused and interactive. The students really like to bring up their own work, put it under the camera, and have it projected onto the board. The fact that ELMO is quiet makes a huge difference in student-teacher interaction. The students never have to move their chairs to see because ELMO is small and doesn't interfere in their line of sight. Again, thank you so much for your generosity and your dedication to education. ”

  • All The World Is A Stage!

    Funded Nov 15, 2009

My first grade students and I want to express our heartfelt gratitude for your generosity in donating funds for our trip to the theater to see "Miss Nelson is Missing." Most of the students had never had the opportunity to attend a live production. They were thrilled and amazed to say the least.

As the teacher, I am so grateful that I was able to participate in this exciting experience. As you can see in the photos, there were opportunities for the students to extend their experience by doing activities in the classroom.

Thank you for your dedication to educating children and providing them with an opportunity that would otherwise not be possible. Who knows, perhaps one of them will become a performer on stage!”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Farrell

  • Science Comes Alive in the Classroom

    Funded Jun 13, 2006

Thank you so much for your generosity in funding my "Science Comes Alive in the Classroom" proposal. Forty children and their teachers will benefit from your kindness. These hands-on, participation activities really engage the kids and extend their knowledge. We will be sending feedback in December because we won't be able to have our first presentation until October or November. "It takes a whole village to raise a child."

Thanks for being part of our village.
