Help! I have extremely creative students who are reluctant to create reading response projects, due to the lack of resources. I am a fifth grade reading teacher at a charter school. I am new to the school this year, and the city. I have never worked in an inner-city school with children who have so little supplies. I have 105 kids a day, who range in level from first grade reading level to seventh grade reading level. Our school is slowly building a school library, and I want them to express what they read in fun ways to get the reluctant readers excited to sample new novels. I want to promote reading enjoyment and for kids to see the joy in reading, not just for reading class, but for life. I want to create life-long readers!
