I have an energetic group of fourth and fifth grade students filled with curiosity. Each individual student is unique across the spectrum with autism. They have exceptional abilities that require innovative ways of truly aspiring to their potential. We are fortunate to be on a campus that has added general education classrooms. Our students have grown socially by integrating with general education students. Our students have been able to be members of student council and play a role in their school instead of being a bystander. However, our students fall short in reaching their education needs and meeting their individualized goals. We are a title 1 school, located in a low income area, surrounded by commercial buildings and factories.
