  • Expression Through Art!

    Funded Apr 21, 2022

Art materials play a significant role in the development of my kindergarten students. The use of art materials in my classroom helps my students to express themselves creatively and develop important skills such as fine motor skills, hand-eye coordination, and cognitive development.

Art materials such as crayons, paints, markers, and watercolors, encourage my students to experiment with different colors, textures, and shapes, which helps to develop their creativity and imagination. Additionally, using these materials helps my students to develop their fine motor skills, as they learn to hold and control a range of art tools.

Art activities also promote hand-eye coordination and cognitive development. For example, when my students draw or paint, they must coordinate their hand movements with their visual perception, which helps to develop their hand-eye coordination. Furthermore, art activities help my students to develop their cognitive skills by encouraging them to think creatively, problem-solve, and make decisions.”

  • Let's Get Creative with STEM Sets!

    Funded Aug 15, 2023

Thank you! Magna-Tiles are an excellent tool for STEM learning. They are educational, fun and can spark creativity in my students. These toys consist of magnetic shapes that can be assembled into various structures by the user. They help my students develop critical thinking, problem-solving, and spatial reasoning skills.

In addition, Magna-Tiles are also a great way to introduce basic concepts of geometry and physics. Playing with these tiles can help my students understand the properties of magnets and how they work. They can also learn about different shapes and their properties, such as sides, angles, and symmetry.

Overall, Magna-Tiles are a wonderful addition to my STEM program and they provide endless opportunities for exploration and discovery, while also promoting creativity and imagination.”

  • Crazy for Counting!

    Funded Jan 26, 2018

Counting manipulatives are a powerful tool that can have a significant impact on kinder students. These manipulatives are physical objects that are used to teach basic math concepts such as counting, addition, and subtraction. They come in a variety of forms, including blocks, beads, and pegs, among others.

One of the primary benefits of using counting manipulatives in kindergarten classrooms is that they help students develop a concrete understanding of math concepts. By physically manipulating objects, students can explore and experiment with numbers and quantities in a way that is impossible with abstract symbols alone. This hands-on approach helps students to develop a strong foundation in math that will serve them well in the years to come.

In addition to their educational benefits, counting manipulatives can also have a positive impact on students' motivation and engagement. By making math more tangible and interactive, these tools can help to spark students' curiosity and enthusiasm for learning. This, in turn, can lead to increased confidence and success in math, which is an essential skill for future academic and professional success.”

I am requesting math materials such as ocean fish counters, colored teddy bear sorting, Let's Go Fishing math centers, and a magnetic addition center. With these materials, my students will be able to have hands-on experiences to develop their grade level math skills. With these materials, they will be able to sort colors and sizes, write their own number sentence using magnetic numbers and counters to solve, and also use their gross motor skills with fishing poles to help them separate and sequence objects. My students are very tactile learners and learn through being engaged and having fun. My students are always ready and eager to learn.
