We Need the Write Stuff!
Funded Mar 7, 2008Thank you so much for the writing materials. Many of my students are English Language Learners and the Sentence Building Center will help them learn how to read and write complete sentences. The Highlighting Tape will be used on charts and posters for students to see certain words and punctuation. The Writing Board is wonderful because it is lined and the students can practice their writing, then it erases away.
I cannot thank you enough for your generosity! You have allowed my students to be more successful readers and writers!
Sincerely,
Mrs. ”

We Need the "Write" Stuff!
Funded Feb 9, 2008I cannot tell you how relieved and excited I am that you funded our writing materials! Just as we were on our last box of pencils, your donation has made it possible for my class to continue writing full speed! The sharpener and erasers will expedite the writing process and allow the day to flow smoothly. The index cards empower my students to make their own flash cards for math, and add their own words to the word wall. Thank you for your generosity”

We Want to Help Save the Rainforest by Reading 100 Books!
Funded Jan 15, 2008I am so excited that you funded books for my class. At this point in the year, many of them are reading at higher and higher reading levels. Since my classroom library has very few books at higher levels, these books are just in time!
We will soon begin our reading of 100 books to help save the rain forest. When we reach our goal, Scholastic Books will donate money to save 100 acres of the rainforest. The students have already read most of the books in the classroom library, so your donation will give them a whole new selection.
Your generosity will go a very long way in helping my first grade class to develop a love for reading.
Thank you so much”

One Fifth of Americans Can't Locate the US on a World Map!
Funded Nov 27, 2007Thank you so much for your generous donation of the World Activity Chest. It will surely electrify the classroom with its hands-on materials! Our classroom does not have many social studies materials and this will be a great way to learn about geography. My students come from many different countries, and they'll be able to find their home countries on the globe, along with pictures and flags.
Thanks again”

My Class Wants to Cure Cancer!
Funded Oct 30, 2007I want to thank you for your very generous gift for the students. If the children's excitement is half what mine is now, they will be thrilled! I have used the Weekly Reader in the past, and I know that it will interest the students in non-fiction topics, such as science, geography and history.
Thanks again!
Sincerely,
Mrs. ”
