  • Welcome to Our Classroom!

    Funded Nov 10, 2021

Thank you for your generous donation! Your gift makes it possible to create a positive learning environment for kids like April.

Thanks to you, I was able to create a classroom that feels safe, welcoming and supportive of student learning. Your gift has already started to impact student learning. My students are using the digital timer to help them stay on task and complete their assignments. They also love the green book bins in our library. This helps them find books on their own, which makes them feel more independent.”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Trice

  • Assistive Technology: A Bridge to Greater Independence

    Funded Oct 13, 2019

Thanks to your generosity, we are able to cultivate independent learners in my classroom.

Thank you for your generous donation of the five audio/voice recorders for my students with reading difficulties. Your willingness to help struggling readers make all the difference. Thanks to you, we are able to provide reading accommodations like text read aloud across the curriculum in language arts, math, science and history.

The voice/audio recorders enable my students to listen to text that I have recorded for them. This allows them to better understand the passages, and read along stories independently. We also discovered that they love to practice their oral reading fluency using the recorder! It's wonderful to see my amazing students experience being able to do something on their own, and take charge of their learning.”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Trice

  • Listen and Learn!

    Funded Mar 27, 2018

Thank you so much for your generous donation. The listening center that you donated have helped my students every single day. My students use the listening center to listen to their favorite book after they are done with their assigned work, read along and practice their fluency, and learn about various topics. The listening center is used by all of my students from kindergarten to 5th grade.

Without your help, my students would never have a listening center. The listening center is an essential part of our classroom. It promotes independence and the love for reading. My students are always excited to come to the Resource classroom. One of my 5th graders expressed, "When I come to resource, I want to stay on top of my work so I could go and read some books." Another one of my 4th grade students stated,"One of my favorite things about it is that you can listen to it and read it at the same time."

Without donors like you, my classroom would go without vital resources that every classroom needs.”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Trice

Having a listening center will allow my students to participate in reading activities in their classroom. My students are all learning to read, and a listening center is a great way to expose them to a variety of wonderful stories. The listening center will allow them to use their imagination to visualize places, people, and animals they are learning about. My students will be able to make a connection to a world they know, or look into a fantasy world where they will grow to love reading. Therefore, incorporating a listening center is a great way for them to listen and learn!
