Students in my class do become frustrated at times. An array of desculating tools are taught and used in the classroom. Students have been given a plethora of tools to calm themselves down when necessary. Students are excited to add yoga to their toolbox as a deescalating tool. Students are learning that punching people in the face is not an option, but we can breath. Students are learning that one can self regulate our actions when upset. We have the ability to be calm, grounded, strong, centered, peaceful and safe. Most importantly we are worthy of all good. Having access to yoga mats will allow students to begin yoga sessions in the classroom to further build on previously learned strategies to calm minds and bodies. Students will be able to calm their minds, be present, and grow. Today is a good day to start yoga.
