  • A (Toner) Cartridge in a Pear Tree 3.0

    Funded Oct 8, 2020

I can't thank you enough for donating to my classroom. Your generosity is greatly appreciated.

I ordered this toner cartridge because most of my students are unable to print out their own essays to bring to the classroom. Therefore, I would like to print my students' essays for them.

When we return to the physical classroom, I will use the toner cartridge to print the essays. Then my students will put the essays into their writing portfolios.

Once again, thank you so much for thinking of my students.”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Zeig

  • A (Toner) Cartridge in a Pear Tree 2.0

    Funded Nov 21, 2019

Thank you for your generous donations. I just received the toner cartridge, and I am so grateful.

To prepare my students for college, I assign multi-paragraph essays. Many of my students don't have printers at home, so I print the essays for them using my classroom printer. The new toner cartridge I received will allow me to do just that.

With printed essays, my students will be able to share their writing with their classmates. Collaborating with their peers will generate additional ideas to help improve their writing skills.

Thank you again for your contribution to my classroom.”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Zeig

  • A (Toner) Cartridge in a Pear Tree Again

    Funded Jun 13, 2019

I just received the toner cartridge, and I am so grateful for your generous donations.

My students need to prepare for the SAT and common core assessments, so they need to write multi-paragraph essays. The toner cartridge will allow me to print their essays. With printed essays, my students will be able to share their writing assignments with classmates. Collaborating with their peers will help them generate additional ideas so they can improve their writing skills.

Thank you again for your contribution to my classroom.”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Zeig

  • Science World Magazine Rocks!

    Funded Feb 19, 2019

Thank you so much for the subscription to Science World Magazine. My students just love reading these magazines in their science class and in my English class.

The articles are interesting and engaging, so my students want to read them. In addition, these magazines make science easily accessible for students because they are written at their grade level.

Reading Science World helps the students improve their reading skills which gives them a boost of confidence and makes them want to read even more.

Once again, thank you for your generosity.”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Zeig

  • Let's Read!

    Funded Mar 26, 2018

We are so excited to get these new books and squeeze balls. We just love reading the Diary of a Wimpy Kid books. They are easy to read and have great illustrations. Because they are so entertaining, we read more which helps improve our reading skills.

When we read our books, sometimes we like to squeeze a ball. The colorful squeeze balls we received are wonderful because they calm us down which helps us focus more on our reading.

Thank you so very much for your generous donations. We truly appreciate your kindness.”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Zeig

  • Reading is Awesome!

    Funded Aug 7, 2017

Thank you for your most generous donation. The funds allowed me to purchase books for my classroom library. My students can check out the books from my library and take them home to read.

My students and I were so excited when the Diary of a Wimpy Kid, Bluford, Divergent, and Dear Dumb Diary books arrived. They started reading them immediately and couldn't wait to finish one and begin reading another.

Your thoughtful donation is greatly appreciated. Thank you again for taking an interest in my students' reading endeavors.”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Zeig

  • Tolerance Beyond Borders

    Funded Jun 11, 2017

My students and I are thrilled to have these books, and they can't wait to start reading about Enrique. Many of my students also had to endure hardships to come to this country. Their struggles are similar to those that Enrique experienced on his journey.

I don't know what teachers would do without wonderful donors like you. Your donations help us enrich our students' lives.

Thank you so much for your generosity and support. You showed an act of kindness that Teresa B. and I will never forget.”

    With gratitude,

  • Out of Print (er)

    Funded Aug 25, 2016

We are so happy that we received the printer, toner, and flash drives. Because we didn't have a working printer, this new printer will enable us to print our essays.

At this point we are working on writing "perfect" paragraphs. We are fortunate to have laptops in our classrooms, but we can't print from these laptops. When we are finished with our writing, we use the flash drives to transfer our files so they can be printed by our teacher.

This new printer is amazing and is so fast. We can't thank you enough for donating to our classroom. It's greatly appreciated.”

  • Book Smart

    Funded Mar 9, 2016

We are so happy that we have new books to read in our classroom. Our teacher ordered the books we requested, and we are now reading them.

I'm Bruno, and I love the Diary of a Wimpy Kid books. These books are funny and exciting.

My name is Karlen, and I just read all of the Dragon Blood books that we received. These are my favorite books because they are interesting and easy to read. After I finished them, I took quizzes on the books for my reading grade in the class.

Thank you again for your generous donation.”

I teach at a middle school in Los Angeles, and my students live at or below the poverty level. My students face challenges every day, but they still manage to get to school. I want to help my students as much as possible so that they can become successful members of society. Reading is an important part of this goal. Many of my students do not enjoy reading, so it's a struggle to get them motivated to read.
