My students live in a very tough neighborhood that is plagued with poverty and gang violence. It is often hard for them to relate to a world outside their neighborhood because of this lack of exposure and experiences most of us, often take for granted. They are only 16 miles from the ocean yet many have never been given the opportunity to go visit. They love to learn and dream big of places and ways of life they see only on TV. Our school staff is amazing. The students and families know that each teacher goes above and beyond the call of duty to create authentic learning experiences. We work together as a community to help them reach their highest potential.
