Art stops for nothing
Funded Jan 27, 2023The art trays made painting on the go in kindergarten classrooms a success . The kids were thrilled, the work could dry and the various classroom tables stayed as neat as they could.
Thank you for helping to insure that all children in. New York City continue to have access to the arts despite obstacles and circumstances beyond our control. Your donation helped to keep the art flowing to some of the city's most vulnerable students. Your impact has brought them new knowledge, fine motor practice and joy”

Funded May 18, 2021Thank you so much for swooping in and finding relief for our artists in the heat of late spring and early summer.
As our outdoor mural site was void of trees and stationed on the blacktop, we were experiencing a lot of incomfortable temps. With the canopy, we were able to create a shade option for workers and continue our outdoor art. Our mural was completed before the year ended and this project assisted with us meeting that goal.
This canopy will be used for future outdoor learning and events and bring shade to our outdoor community for years to come.”

Putting Our Mark On School, Literally: PS 5’s Mural
Funded Sep 2, 2020We began our in person year exploring mentor muralists like M Tony Peralta and James DeLaVega. After understanding the task my student collaborated on a them of the jungle and began sharing sketches on a digital sharing tool called Padlet. We leaned into collaboration and once the snow cleared from our outdoor space, we began painting.
The students were thrilled to be outdooors, to be using special equipment and wearing absolutely fashionable rainbow colored ponchos to stay clean.
Our jungle mural is an organic project where students manage to respond to the changing needs of their idea as the enlarge it on an expansive outdoor wall.
There is an undeniable sense of connection as we work towards our ribbon cutting to unveil our finished product to the school community.
Your generosity made this possible. Thank you so much.”

Personalized Cubicles for Working From Home
Funded Sep 17, 2020We were able to allow students to launch the year creatively. They thought like designers taking on the space of a trifold board and using the tools they had created a cubicle. Their cubicles were likable to the eye and helped organize schedules and passwords and display anything from alphabets to multiplication tables.
The cubicles are also serving as a privacy screen as students log into virtual meetings with teachers and peers creating additional comfort and increasing likelihood of participation. Our students are beefing with pride for the boards they madejas you are how that happened!”

Funded Nov 12, 2007As we head into a season of Thanksgiving, my students and I can add another fortune to our lists. Thank you so much for your donation. I'm thrilled to report to the students tomorrow and let them know about the literature to come!
I'm sure the books we receive will ignite our Laura Ingalls Wilder book club. Now we can truly explore the wide work of this author.
