    Thank you for your donations. Your donations have allowed me to conduct groups, create incentive care packages for my students, and create opportunities to decompress for students in crisis. My students are mostly impressed by the care packages. Some of the comments were, "where did you get this?", "can I have all of this? (lotion)" ("do I have to write in it, can I draw pictures?", "mmm, this smells good!", "I'm going to use this every day.", "can I get one for my mom?".   • Deep Pressure Vests and Weighted Toys Would Help Us

    The students and I are very thankful for your kind and giving hearts! The children have responded delightfully to the sensory sticks, sensory vest, weighted animals, and doll. We are living in a time where creativity is required to reach our students where they are. Our students have only been on the planet for a few years and yet have already endured great trauma. These students are particularly impacted by poverty and deprived of certain privileges due to their catchment area. Thanks to all of you, these items have helped the children to de-escalate quicker, learn new self-soothing strategies, and respond differently when in conflict. I promise I will continue to do my part. Thank you to the moon for playing a part in investing in the lives of our children.”

I work with many children daily as a counselor. My work is busy, tedious and extremely stressful. Daily I am having children sit at my desk to be evaluated or counseled. My desk is extremely old and on its last leg. The top is torn apart and I have to cover it with papers when working with the children in case they hurt themselves on sharp jutting shards of wood. My chair is small and these days my back hurts from the long hours of uncomfortable sitting. Ergonomics is not a word heard our environment. I want to have a proper desk to work with my students and a decent chair to sit on to counsel them. I want to give them the best of me in a comfortable inviting environment but am unable to do so. I work with students who are hyperactive and unable to focus and function properly at times. I need to have a few yoga mats for them to lay on and do gentle exercises when they are unable to focus. Sometimes they need to simply lay out in the gym on the floor to calm their bodies. The gym floor is often dusty and there are no mats for them to lay down on. I am currently writing a project to get these amazing students a sensory swing as I believe this can help improve their days greatly. Please help me to better support these most amazing students. If I and the students can be comfortable at my desk as we work together our days will go so much more smoothly.
