  • The Power of Discovery

    Funded Dec 4, 2023

Thank you for funding our project, because of your donations my students can use

Math Scholastic Magazines in the classroom to enhance their learning experiences.

The magazines present mathematical concepts in real-world scenarios, making abstract ideas more tangible and relevant to my students. They can see the practical applications of the math they are learning, fostering a deeper understanding and appreciation for the subject.

The colorful and interactive format of the magazines captures my students' attention and maintains their interest in mathematical concepts. My students are more likely to participate actively in class discussions and activities.

The articles and problems in the magazines often require critical thinking and problem-solving skills promoting a deeper understanding of mathematical principles. My students learn from each other, share diverse perspectives, and develop teamwork skills, creating a supportive learning community within the classroom.

These magazines are a valuable tool in creating a dynamic and effective math education environment for my students.

Once agin, thank you for helping us obtain this great resource.”

  • Play Time!

    Funded May 9, 2018

I am writing this letter to thank you for your generous donation to my project. THANK YOU. My students were amazed and super excited when they received the board games. So many of them expressed their excitement for being able to play some of the games for their first time ever.

I was very pleased and moved by the impact a simple board game had on my kids. Often we focus so much on the academics that we forget to teach our children the importance of having social skills. Through "play" time, my kids are not only learning to play a new game, but are also developing "people" skills.

I am so pleased you chose to fund our project and look forward for you and others to continue funding my projects as they reach a special population of students. My kids are very thankful and grateful. Gracias.”

  • Mathematicians Needing Help!

    Funded Sep 17, 2014

We would like to express our gratitude for your generous donation to our math class. The projector and the Scholastic Math magazines we received are just awesome! Before, our projector was hardly working. Now, with the new projector, all we want to do is show our work and go up to the board to explain what we are learning. Also the Scholastic Math magazines are giving us real life examples of the math concept we are learning in class. The readings and the pictures on the magazine are just so cool, that all we want to do is keep reading them.

Our school is currently struggling allocating funds for resources such as projectors in every classroom and math magazines for the kids. So without your help, we wouldn't be able to use these resources in our 6th grade math classroom.

Donors like you are the ones that make a difference in the our classrooms.”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Colon

What do you see in my math classroom? My math classroom is one where students work COOPERATIVELY with others, applying their mathematical thinking to solve problems that MATTER to them. My students INTERACT with one and other on a daily basis EXPLORING, EXPLAINING, EXTENDING, and EVALUATING their UNIQUE ways of "doing math". Every day is exciting! Everyday when is time to leave to another class, they express their desire to stay in my math classroom all day. I have very HIGH EXPECTATIONS for all my students, and they all rise up to them. I couldn't be any more PROUD of their HARD WORK and DEDICATION.
