  • Scientists In Need Of An iPad

    Funded Dec 30, 2014

It is with deepest gratitude that I am writing this letter to you.

My students were aware that I had wriiten a grant in the hopes of receiving an iPad for our class. They had shared their experiences about their experiences with the use of technology with me and they were more than happy that our class would have the opportunity to receive one.

In a short period of time , we were fortunate to to be granted the iPad from donors who also believe that the use of technology could be beneficial to us in our understadings of the world in which we live.

We have already downloaded apps such as, Bill Nye and BrainPOP. We are in the process of finding more apps that will help us learn more. We have already used many search engines to further research topics such as energy and magnetism.

We can't wait to continue our journey in learning!

We THANK YOU for your support!”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Vannata

  • Help Support Our Annual Science Fair

    Funded Feb 7, 2011

Our school was very excited to receive the donated items that were used for our Math, Science Technology Fair! The donated items such as the volcano kits, rock collection, microscopes, slides, telescopes and presentation boards have helped to motivate our students. As soon as we received them, we placed the donated items in a display case for all to see. The students worked extra hard this year in the hopes of winning a donated item. These items also served to be valuable to our students whose families couldn't afford to purchase them.

We are very grateful that your foundation decided to donate to us! We know that because of you, our students will become life long learners.”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Vannata

Our students come from lower income families who want the best for their children. Many of their parents want the American dream. They hope that their children will have more than they had in their former countries. They entrust in our NYC school system to help them achieve that American Dream. Unfortunately, due to the budget cuts, it has made it challenging for teachers to motivate them with other resources.
