Engaging At-Home Learning
Funded Jun 27, 2020Thank you so much for your generosity! Distance Learning has been quite an undertaking but with your generosity I was able to purchase several resources on Teacher Pay Teacher, photocopy it, put it together for my students and distribute it when they picked up their instructional materials from school.
Engaging students when they are learning from home has been a challenge and with the spider theme unit I purchased I was able make learning fun by incorporating science, writing, oral language, reading and math. The children were so excited and had fun as they learned.
I also purchase several resources to help my children practice their letters, numbers, patterning, and letter sounds. Since I am not physically able to monitor their spacing between words, I purchased a spacing tool which was an astronaut "Space Man" printout that I glued to a tongue depressor. It has really helped my children write sentences correctly!!
Thank you so much for your contribution to my kindergarteners learning!! We really appreciate your thoughtfulness!! My Fanny wanted me to tell you, "You are a really nice citizen!"”

Funded May 13, 2019I want to thank you so much taking the time to read my classroom project and funding it!!
This year the children became "entomologists" by studying about insects. They used a variety of books to learn about what they look like, parts of an insect, where they live and what they eat. They also compared insects and spiders. They used books and pictures to become little experts!! However, it wasn't until I set up the investigation table where I put the Easy View Science Specimens that they truly became scientists!! If only I could've captured their excitement when they walked in that day and saw the specimens!!! They loved going to the table and using the magnifying glasses to get a close up view of the insects and spiders!!!! They were using so much language with each other to talk about what they were observing!!!
Next, as a follow up, this Spring we will be learning about Butterflies. The Butterfly Garden will be set up to observe caterpillars change into butterflies!!! What an amazing experience to witness this beautiful metamorphosis!!! Thank you so much for your generosity and for making an impact in my children's learning!!!”

Funded Mar 27, 2018This is truly amazing!!! Your incredible generosity is truly appreciated!! We are currently on Spring Break but when I go back my children will be very happy to hear that our photo libraries are on their way. I can't wait to begin using them to help my English Learners build content knowledge and vocabulary. I will be sending you pictures of the children using the photo cards throughout subject areas. Again, thank you so much for providing the valuable resources that will help my children learn!!!”

Funded Jan 31, 2012I would like to express my deepest gratitude for your generosity in funding my literacy project. Your kind interest in funding my project has allowed my students to benefit immensely by improving their literacy skills.
Most of my students are English language learners and they have been able to use the Sounds Listening Center to improve their phonics skills every week. We learn a new word family weekly and using the Word Family Pocket Chart kit allows them to visually understand and learn how to manipulate letters to make new words. The students also practice their sight word knowledge and create sentences using the Sentence Builder kit. Together, all these materials have contributed to improving the English language and literacy skills of my kindergarten students.
Our school has suffered drastic budget cuts and without your generosity, schools like mine would not be able to purchase all the fantastic materials that you have so kindly purchased for us. ”
With gratitude,
Mrs. Romo
