Calm Corner
Funded Jan 4, 2023Thank you so much for your donations! These materials have allowed me to create a Calm Corner in my classroom to help students regulate their emotions. Students can identify their feelings and go to the calm corner if they need time and space to reflect and refocus. In Kindergarten we learn about our feelings and understand that all feelings are ok.
Students have now internalized that their feelings are valid and important. Last week, we had a student upset about a peer interaction that happened outdoors at recess. They were so upset, they couldn't even talk or begin to verbalize how they felt. I asked them to go to the Calm Corner for until they are ready to share their problem with me. They then went to play with Playdough at the corner and they were able to calm down. They then verbalized their emotions and we were able to solve the problem. This is the power of having a space in the classroom to recollect and reflect.
Thank you again and know that the materials you helped me purchase will continue to be used in future years as well!”

Math & Science Library Center
Funded Jun 24, 2022I have an amazing group of TK/Kindergarteners enjoying wonderful Math and Science books thanks to your donations! We are currently learning about colors and shapes and they love the books that you helped us get. Our Math library is off to a great start!
Students will soon begin learning about plants and animals. The books we got are perfect for this unit. Additionally, the book bin organizer is helping us stay organized so we don't lose our learning materials and they can be used with future students! Thank you for your generousity!”

Funded Nov 16, 2020I thank you on behalf of my students for helping build our classroom library. We will use these books to learn about different cultures and celebrate diversity! My hope is that through a Kindness and Diversity unit, students will see themselves as part of our beautifully diverse community and reveal their inner light. We will learn from each other in the hopes of building a community that understands each others similarities and celebrates our differences! You have made an impact in our classroom!”

Funded Feb 24, 2012I cannot express how thankful my students and I are for your generosity. You have created a new found excitement during our Math lessons. With the funds you provided we were able to get many Math games that will help review concepts like addition, subtraction, three-dimensional shapes, multiplication, and fractions. The games provide students a fun way to review what they learned as well as the opportunity for team work and collaboration.
I have already noticed an improvement in my students' attitude towards Math. Although I have very energetic and positive students in my class, they couldn't help but feel discouraged when they came across difficult Math problems. Now, they are excited for Math time in our schedule and look forward to engaging in their Math games. They approach Math problems with confidence and excitement. Their test scores are also improving since they have the opportunity to practice in an interactive way.
We are truly thankful and hope that you can continue to support our classroom as well as others who need instructional materials that make learning fun! ”
