My first graders are English Language Learners who are getting exposed to award winning literature. They love story time. One story is never enough. They get so excited when they hear a new story. They love predicting what will happen next. The listening center is one way that I can help my auditory and visual learners achieve success. As they follow along in their book, they will also be able to hear a fluent reader that models correct pacing and intonation. The listening center will help meet target standards in ELD, Reading and Language Arts. It will inspire students to develop a love for books and reading.
