Ignite Learning with a Kindle Fire! Part 2
Funded Feb 3, 2012Thank you so much for your generous donation in fulfilling my project. I along with my class of 50 6th graders were excited to receive the Kindle Fires!!! This was just the start in assembling my reading groups. My students have teamed up in reading the books. I don't have enough for a full center of six but with the half I have I am making it work. I have formed my students in groups of two one high and one low to help each other. They are doing a wonderful job picking books that we were able to download from the Internet for free. My title Ignite Learning with a Kindle Fire has done just that! Ignite my students and become eager to learn and do their work. Most of them want to finish their work so they can do buddy reading on the Kindle Fires. They are challenging themselves to read books above their grade level which excites me even more. Things I couldn't do with just regular books.
So again, I THANK YOU for your GENEROUS donation to make my dream come true. Having these students get excited to read on an electronic tablet like the Kindle Fire is so worth it!”

Funded Jan 28, 2012For all those who donated to my project I just want to say THANK YOU SO MUCH!!! Receiving the Kindle Fire has literally put a fire in the classroom!! My students were excited when we got the news that the package had arrived. The funny thing was once we opened our new Kindle Fire we had to charge it to make sure it worked. Needless to say a major disappointment with my students who were so looking forward to use it. Having the Kindle Fire has put a positive reinforcement in my classroom. My students are more eager than ever to do their work and learn so they could have a chance to use it. It is literally a new toy that is used for educational purposes. They are having fun downloading books that are free at this moment and just the curiosity of learning something new is a plus.
Thank you for your support with your generous donations to help me jump start my reading center. ”
