Outdoor Exploration
Funded Jan 9, 2022Thank you for your generous donations. My students have been using the art easel and the beanbag toss board during our Afternoon Play Time.
When students saw the new and shiny easel everyone was eager to create an art piece. They quickly planned, created and shared their art creations. They were excited to see their art work covering the walls of our Playroom.
As for the beanbag toss, students loved to see that the beanbags were in corresponding colors and shapes to the board. It has been giving them unless hours of practice and perfecting their hand-eye coordination.
Once again, thank you for your thoughtfulness.”

Funded Feb 3, 2021I placed the donated books in Spring Baskets for my students. They were very excited when they saw the books. Many recognized characters on the front cover and couldn't wait to start flipping the pages. Being able to own their own books has made a big impact on my students because I could see how enthusiastically they take ownership of their books and they add them to their home libraries.
During our Zoom lessons students have their book basket next to them and when it is reading time, they choose a favorite book. After completing their Picture Walk they share with others what the story is about.
These books have ignited a love of reading.”

Eager to Learn
Funded Sep 3, 2020We were very excited to start using our newly donated materials during our daily Zoom Class. Our new materials are used during language arts, math, and art to make our lessons engaging and interactive.
When students starting using watercolors during art lessons they were thrilled to explore the different colors and techniques to express themselves artistically.
During language arts and math they use their Magic Boards and Writing Journal to practice letter and number recognition and formation.
We will continue to find new ways of using our materials in all subject areas. We are extremely appreciative of your generosity and your continued passion in helping our very deserving students.”

Funded Feb 2, 2012Your donation to our classroom has made a tremendous impact on my students. They have used these resources in a variety of ways. The Read-Along Libraries have been used during whole group Read-Alouds, Independent Work Time, and small group activities. As a whole group Read Aloud, the entire class has the opportunity to enjoy a story together. During this time the students are able to use reading strategies which help create a deeper understanding of the story. Whole group instruction is a time when students learn from others modeling strategies such as Making Connections, Asking Questions, and Retelling a story.
As for Independent Work Time, this time of day allows the students to practice skills they have learned during whole group instruction. One of the activities you will see my students working on is creating puppets to retell, The Three Billy Goats Gruff. This story immediately became one of their favorites. They also enjoyed retelling the story at home to their families.
During small group activities, students listen to the story on CD and have a follow-up written activity. The written assignments incorporates a variety of story elements such as identifying characters, setting, and plot.
I will be forever grateful for your contribution to my Kindergarten classroom These resources will be used for many years to come. Due to your generosity, countless students will be exposed to these cherished stories. Thank you !
