  • Calling All Authors and Illustrators!

    Funded Jul 30, 2022

Having a working printer in my classroom is going to make my life immeasurably better! The students can print their written work, I can easily make copies for parents and children, and I can decorate the bulletin boards with clipart and other unique fonts. It is also wonderful that we now have all that extra printer paper, so students can print out their stories throughout the year. I cannot thank you enough for your kindness and generosity.”

  • Jump Up, Jump Down, Jump Around!

    Funded Apr 5, 2021

Thank you for your support from the bottom of my heart. This new equipment has brought such joy and excitement from my students as well as myself. I loved jumping rope as a child, particularly jumping double dutch. I have been able to teach them different ways you can use the single jump ropes, and I cannot wait to introduce them to Chinese jump rope and double dutch, with two ropes.

You should have seen the delight and anticipation on their faces when I took the jumping rings outside for P.E. class. Some were unsure how to use it, but a few of their classmates demonstrated what to do, and then everybody was up for the challenge.

Thank you again. My students and I are looking forward to using this wonderful jumping equipment throughout the year. You have added a new and intriguing level of physical education that our bodies will all benefit from. I am grateful for your kindness and generosity.”

  • Embracing Your Uniqueness

    Funded Apr 13, 2021

I want to thank you immensely for your generosity. The graphic novel memoir, El Deafo by Cece Bell and David Lasky is such a welcome addition to our reading lessons!

It has brought so much laughter and opportunities for heartfelt discussions. The book focuses on adversity with humor and perseverance, which are both such important traits for children to learn.

I am thrilled that my students have the opportunity to use these books to study character traits and problem solving, and begin to discuss how we ourselves have overcome similar issues. I cannot thank you enough because so many life lessons can be taught from this book.”

  • Be Inspired Through Music

    Funded Jan 8, 2021

Thank you again for all your generous donations towards my project: Be Inspired Through Music. I will use your gift to inspire, aid, encourage, engage, and support my students.

This past year has been both challenging and inspiring. However, music has healing power, and sometimes music can be the only thing that can take your mind off of everything else. It will be wonderful to give students the opportunity to explore the various genres of music, the diverse instruments, and to learn about the lives of the greatest historical composers. Thank you for helping me enlighten my students to the wonders of music and unleash their imagination.

Please accept my heartfelt thank you again for this amazing donation. I am overflowing with gratitude.”

  • Making MacBook Mischief

    Funded Dec 29, 2020

Thank you again for all your generous donations towards my project: Making MacBook Mischief. Due to the reliability and efficiency of the MacBook, I have been able to conduct my zoom class and give uninterrupted and continuous instruction.

When I begin zoom class every morning, I love showing my students Mystery Science videos in which they learn random fascinating science facts which inspire them to love science. I am able to share my MacBook screen to instruct them on how to use the Internet, and create Google Slideshows. They just finished creating a slideshow on the Emperor Penguin and they are so excited to start on another slideshow about Earth's ecosystems. They are having so much fun indulging in their creative side, and I am so grateful to have a device that is helping me help them.

Please accept my heartfelt thank you again for your support.”

  • Passionate Picasso??? Vibrant Van Gogh???

    Funded Mar 14, 2012

I am overwhelmed with gratitude for all of your donations. My students and I were thrilled to receive artist biographies as well as art supplies.

I appreciate your support of the arts in my classroom. Art plays such a significant role in students' lives as they learn to express themselves and be creative, unique individuals. I am excited to further their knowledge of various art styles. My students have already learned about Picasso, Van Gogh, Matisse, and Kahlo and with each book read, they were more intrigued. Hopefully as they continue to learn about what inspired these artists, they too will be inspired.

Thank you again for your generosity. My class and I greatly appreciate it. ”

  • Quench Their Thirst for Technology

    Funded Jan 31, 2012

Thank you so much for your generosity. My students were thrilled to receive the Samsung tablet.

I appreciate your support of technology in the classroom. It is amazing that my students have the opportunity to access the Internet and become familiar with this new technology. Since we've gotten the tablet my students take tests daily on books they are reading, they have researched information about artists, authors, and different animals to write reports on these topics, they have used it as a camera to document the different projects we have done in the class, and they have used it to play educational games to reinforce concepts in math and reading. This tablet has been a vital tool in the classroom and I cannot express the difference it has made in my students' lives. It has been a joy watching their excitement as they get the opportunity to use it.

My students are creative, clever, and inquisitive and they are eager to know everything. They like to be engaged in an interesting way and this tablet has definitely done that. Thank you again for supporting myself and my students. Words cannot begin to express our gratitude. ”

My students are creative, clever, and inquisitive and they are eager to know more and do more. Their curious nature is adored and their numerous questions are encouraged. They are driven to get more information from books, magazines, T.V, and other people. They work hard in all of their subjects and simply want a way to discover more. The Internet is the key. However most of the computers in our school are archaic and cannot be updated. I teach in a low socioeconomic area in which many children do not have access to technology since families have limited financial resources. In addition, the city in which I teach has plans to close the city library and at my school we are unable to use the library because of our lack of funds to get a librarian. It is challenging for my students to quench their thirst for knowledge when they are losing access to books and cannot even search on the Internet.
