  • Easy Breathing

    Funded Jun 17, 2024

Thank you so much for your help in funding this project. My students are sneezing less and don't have the irritated red eyes anymore. The air purifier sits on my desk where it is visible for my students to see. I thought this was the best and safest place to have it.

My students are more focused and engaged in learning where as before, so much educational time was lost because they were constantly blowing their nose and complained of itchy watery eyes.

The energy and positive attitude of my students has improved with cleaner and fresher air in our classroom.”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Espinoza

  • Casual Seating

    Funded Oct 23, 2023

Thank you so much for your generous donation! My students get really excited about when it comes to sitting on their seat cushions. This may seem like a small thing, but for us, it makes a world of difference. Students are more engaged during STEM activities and independent time. They easily move around the classroom to find a new location to work with a partner. I love the fact that we can wipe down our cushions at the end of the day. I also like how versatile they are compared with a classroom rug.”

  • Can We Count on You?

    Funded Aug 16, 2022

These magnificent mathematical tools have made math so much easier for my bright students. They have gained confidence using it in a daily basis to solve word problems and two digit number sentences.

My students were really excited to have their own individual rekenrek at their desks.

Their confidence grew and I noticed that they began to enjoin problem solving working in pairs.

Students will continue to use their individual rekenrek tools to assist them in problem solving word problems and with two digit addition and subtraction number sentences.”

  • Healthy and Clean

    Funded Mar 2, 2022

Thank you so much for the cordless vacuum. It has maintained our classrooms clean and tidy.

The vacuum does its job while students are out at recess, lunch, and right before dismissal. This keeps dirt, mud and other trash materials that creep into our room from under kids shoes off our floors.

A few students already use one at home, therefore I had no trouble explaining its purpose. It makes it fun to watch the floors being cleaned while students are quietly working at their centers.

Now students cannot wait to be the "Classroom Helper" to turn on our floor cleaner.”

  • Abracadabra Abacus

    Funded Feb 3, 2022

Thank you so much for helping my students with these amazing counters. They have been such great help allowing students to visually see the patterns of five, ten and twenty. It has made counting much more pleasurable as the students physically move each bead across. It has allowed students to also see the different ways they can make 10's and 20's by color coding and looking at both rows as they divide the rows to make a pattern. These mini abacus have also helped my students visually recognize the written number to the correct amount of beads when writing and identifying numbers.”

  • Laptop for Creative Minds

    Funded Dec 2, 2020

Once again I would like to thank you for your help with the laptop during this pandemic. The laptop has been such an asset to help my students learn and see in full color the lessons being taught. I can create amazing slides full of color and images to make connections with the lesson.

My students enjoy coming up to my table and click on the space bar of the laptop to discover the hidden pictures and matching words during English Language Arts Vocabulary. Not only are my students participating, but my ELD students are learning much faster and are participating more in class. They are much more engaged and attentive. My students anxiously wait for this time of language arts during the day.”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Espinoza

I am a First grade teacher at Chapman Elementary in Gardena. I teach the SEI (Structured English Immersion) class. My class is composed of 12 energetic boys and 10 girls. Our school is a Title 1 and Distinguished School. Unfortuantely, we are suffering from limited resources that are greatly beneficial to our students. Technology is our new world. The more students are exposed to, the greater minds we can create. My Students: My students would greatly benefit from a standing portable projector screen in their classroom. I will be able to amplify and expose my students to a variety of visuals such as pictures and realia that help students learn using the screen. I wont have to be writing and erasing every 5 problems on the board to make room for the next problems to solve. It will help increase their knowledge and make connections to what they already know. Inquiring minds that want to learn!
