The Multi-Sensory Learning Project
Funded Jan 31, 2012I would like to extend my gratitude for funding the much needed tablet and projector for my special need students. Because of your generosity my students were able to enjoy activities related to sign language, life skills educational videos, and functional reading power points. Using the tablet computer, my students were able to have access the World Wide Web and experience educational applications. The table was also useful to teach students basic communication skills through the use of pictures.
The projector has been a great tool for our program. In that, it has provided a variety of audio and visual stimuli for my students. I have been able to connect the tablet to the projector to display large colorful images related to the different functional areas such as reading, math, communications, health, etc. My students have had access to visual recipes for cooking, educational games, most of them with pictures, graphics, text, and music.
During summer school we have planned a new use for the tablet computer and projector. I will be presenting a visual recipe every week. In which my students will have the opportunity to be able to take the tablet and follow the recipe step by step. Once we review the recipe, my students will use their senses to work hands on. The versatility and convenience of the tablet, was the basis for this summer project. I would like to thank you again for your kindness. Our project would not have been possible without your generous gift. You have made a difference in my students' lives.”
With gratitude,
Mr. Rueda
